“Thank you.”
“Why are you thanking me? For giving you space?”
“No, for being my sister and being amazing. I love you so damn much.” It felt so good to catch up and finally get all the crap brewing between them off their chests.

Several days later, Doc was in his office going over some paperwork when Razor stepped in. He held a file and looked pretty grim.
“Are you sure about this?” Razor asked.
“Tell me what’s inside.”
“Why is this so important to you?” Razor asked.
Doc didn’t have to answer to anyone. He had his reasons for feeling irritated over the situation. However, seeing as Razor also agreed he would remove the image of Maeve naked from his mind, he kind of owed him.
Eden had accepted him with open arms. At least, when she came downstairs for something to eat. Everything seemed to be going good between the two sisters. The love the two shared and that bond was important to both of them.
“Because call me old-fashioned, but I believe a guy should take care of his mistakes.”
“You think Wilson should kill his wife and kid?”
Doc frowned. “Fuck, no. I think that piece of shit should walk out, pay most of his wage for raising that kid, and learn that where you stick your dick is important. You give a woman a kid, you take responsibility, end of discussion.”
Razor winced. “He even got paternity tests done on his daughter. Everything you asked for is in there.”
He got up from behind his desk, rounded it, and leaned against the front, taking the file from Razor and started to read all the documents inside. There were notes to explain what each document meant.
“So based on this, he’s trying to get her to relinquish her rights, only he’s attempting to state she walked out of the house.”
“That’s it,” Razor said. “He’s also moved his new woman into the house, and from my sources, there was a yard sale where he sold most of his little girl’s toys.”
Doc snapped the file closed. “I think it’s time I pay this man a visit.”
“Do you mind if I tag along as well?” Razor asked.
“What’s pissed you off about this bastard?”
“Selling his kid’s toys. That is seriously fucked up. Also, neighbors reported that he dragged his wife out of the house, literally yanked her, and forced her into the car. He did the same with his daughter.” Razor pulled out his cell phone. “This is what I got, but he scared his neighbors with lawsuits, if they dared to intervene.”
Doc watched the footage as he saw the woman from the trailer park, screaming that he was hurting her. There was even a point where he used his foot to shove her into the car, and the scream was deafening.
His anger took on a whole new level.
“Let’s go and pay them a visit.”
He left his office, and with Razor behind him, they made their way out into the parking lot. There was no reason to grab the rest of the club. This was not a club issue. This was now a personal matter.
Sheriff Hayes had also been trying to call him. There had been a few suspect break-ins and thefts since the club had completely withdrawn from patrolling the streets. There was also the matter of the Easter Fair, which would be this coming Friday.
Easter was late this year, the end of April, and there was no way Doc was going to let Maeve work at the fair without knowing she was protected first.
Straddling his bike, he made his way toward the address that had been written on the file. It was a nice house, large, almost a mansion, in one of the richer sides of town. From the details he saw, Jamie Carmichael had used most of her parents’ inheritance money to pay for the house. She’d worked multiple jobs to put Wilson through college and also worked while she’d been heavily pregnant. She paid all the bills for an extended number of times. When it came to her hospital bills, she did the same.
It was list after endless list of what Jamie had done for her husband, yet when it came time to return the favor, there was nothing, and it pissed him off. He felt himself fume.
Arriving at the house, most of the neighbors were already gone. Doc turned off the ignition and climbed off his bike. He made his way toward the door and turned to Razor. “Call a locksmith.”
Drawing his boot up, he kicked the door. It took two attempts, using his whole body to finally get it to open. He stepped inside the house and started to look around.
Jamie had made a nice home for herself. However, after the video he watched, he grabbed anything female and started to toss things onto the lawn.
He made his way through the house, and as he got to the stairs, Wilson Carmichael, wearing nothing more than a robe, was at the stairs with a young blonde.
