But then again, I should probably get stuff ready for next Sunday. I frown. I’ve always been a responsible motherfucker, and my devotion to the church is real. Not that I’m in a rush. There’s still a week until Sunday, so I’m not worried. Maybe after Mira leaves, I can get a jumpstart on all that stuff.

Wait, what am I thinking? Is she going to leave? She’s our wife now, so she should live wherever we live, right? I sigh, pouring myself a cup of steaming joe. There are so many things to figure out. Yes, Mira should live with us, but that would also give the game away. Everyone would immediately realize that we’re engaged in a steamy threesome, and I’m not sure we want to hit people on the heads with our relationship just like that.

What to do? I guess God had his own plan for us.

I’m sipping on my brew, when some shuffling sounds rustle in the bedroom. A couple of minutes later, Mira comes out, fully dressed with her curls askew. She looks a little frantic which puts me into worry mode.

“Is everything okay?”

“Yeah, yeah,” she says, eyes scanning the room wildly. “I just have to get to class. It totally slipped my mind that I had one today, and I have to get to lecture because if my grades slip, I lose my scholarship. So I gotta stay on top of that stuff.” She’s still furiously scanning the room, and finally zeros in on her purse.

“Are you going to go to class like that?” I ask over my mug. She looks absolutely gorgeous, but the dress isn’t exactly early morning class attire. Plus, the curvy girl looks a little worse for the wear, if I do say so myself. She looks like she just had a wild night with two men, which is the truth. I smirk a bit.

Mira jerks and looks down at her clothes. Annoyance crosses her features, but there’s nothing she can do about it. I wouldn’t mind undressing her again for a quickie, but I can tell she wouldn’t welcome a roll in the hay at this time.

“I have some time to run home. It’ll be tight, but, hopefully, the subways are on my side.”

That’s never a good bet to make if you are in a hurry because the subway has a way of having delays at the worst possible times.

“Sweetheart, no,” I intone. I’m not about to make my wife take a subway to her apartment after a night of shared passion. “Let me call you a car. You’ll get there a lot quicker and won’t have to rush.” I pull out my phone and plug in the address. I show her how far away her ride is, and she smiles.

“Thank you, Jason,” she murmurs while wrapping her arms around me and getting on her tiptoes to plant a kiss square on my cheek. I curve one arm around her backside, glad I’ve made her so happy.

My phone buzzes, telling me her driver is almost here.

“You should probably head down, baby.”

“Yes, yes!” Mira lets go of me and does one more quick sweep of the apartment with her eyes. It looks like she has every she needs because the woman nods, and slings her purse strap over her shoulder. “Okay, I’ll see you guys later.”

“Of course, baby. Have a good day.”

She goes to the door and with one last smile over her shoulder, departs. I stare after the door closes, still seeing those wide swinging hips and perfect pout.

Damn. That’s my wife. How did I get so lucky?

I was kind of hoping to spend the day with her because we are newly married. We could have had a nice post-wedding breakfast and figured out what to do with the day, but then again, we have our entire lives ahead of us, so what’s the rush?

Plus, it’s easy for me to forget that Mira’s a student with her own life to attend to. We’ll probably need to get her schedule, so we can all sync up. Holy shit, this is starting to feel like a real marriage and you know what? It’s awesome. Before, I used to get really annoyed at having to coordinate three different sets of calendars, but with Mira, I’m willing to clear my schedule. That’s how much she means to me.

Of course, it would be nice to have her come home to us every night. She’s our wife now, and it only makes sense that we all should live together. The only thing is Jordan and I aren’t really set up dwelling-wise for a relationship because we never expected to have such a serious one so soon. Looking around, I smile wryly. Damn, this place is a bachelor pad for sure. The furniture is clean but sparse, and we don’t have too many niceties like flowers and knickknacks. Sure, we grow herbs, but that’s just a couple of pots by the sill.
