“You don’t need to be shy about it, Ellie.” I cup her cheek in my hand, my thumb brushing against her bottom lip. “I enjoyed it.”
“And I enjoyed watching you go to a brothel.” She tries to pull back, but I’m quicker. I cup the back of her neck so she can’t pull away from me.
“You’re still mad about that.” Her lips form a hard line, but she nods her head. “It was only to lure you out. I don’t pay for sex, and I don’t cheat.”
“What do you mean, ‘cheat’?” Her small button nose scrunches. The clouds break, the sun hitting her face to light up her freckles.
“You’re mine, little fox.” Her eyes search my face. “You think I’m lying?”
“No,” Ellie answers quickly. “I just don’t get it. That’s all.”
“You get why you enjoyed watching me. Why would you get jealous?”
“No, I don’t know what it is about you.”
“It’s just right.”
“It’s just crazy.”
I chuckle. “Maybe it is crazy, but it’s right too. I always trust my instincts.”
Her tongue comes out, swiping her bottom lip. “And they said I was yours?”
“They did.”
Ellie shifts closer, putting her hands on my chest. I give her neck a small squeeze of encouragement. “You really don’t think I’m crazy?”
“No, but I do think you question yourself, which I’m sure drives you crazy.”
“Aren’t we supposed to?”
“You’re brilliant, Ellie, and in my eyes, the things you do are for good, even if others see them as bad. I hope one day you see and understand that too.” I want her to trust herself too, not just me.
“It’s not so easy. The things I do can put people in danger around me. I’d have to leave everyone behind.” Her eyes fill with tears, but she fights them.
“That’s where I come in, little fox. Stop fighting yourself and me.” I lean down. “You don’t have to leave anyone. Let me fight for you.”
“That sounds nice,” she whispers. “It sounds like a dream. To do what I want without fear.”
“Stay with me, little fox, and I’ll make all your dreams come true.” Ellie lifts up, pressing her mouth to mine for the first time.
Chapter Fourteen
ELLIE
The man isn’t immune to me. When we shower together or kiss, his cock is always hard and pressing into me. Each day I’m more tempted to touch it, but I’m not bold enough. I am, however, getting more comfortable around him. My nakedness feels more natural.
Ronan doesn’t try to hide it either. In bed it's the same way. It has to hurt for his dick to be that way all the time, doesn’t it? I’m not sure. Everything I know about dicks comes from romance books and what I learned in anatomy, still from books and literature.
There is a saying that if the wind blows, a man can get hard. I'm not sure I'm a fan of that. My vagina isn't getting all worked up unless I'm thinking about someone, and that person is always Ronan.
Even when I read romance, it’s his face that fills in for the hero's. It was always nice until the hero in the book would start to talk about the girl's blond hair or whatever. Then I’d get annoyed because I’m a redhead.
“What’s got your mind going?” Ronan asks when he’s done brushing my hair. We have really fallen into a routine together. Not only him and me but also him with my dad. He is always helping him out and going out of his way for anyone around here. It hasn’t gone unnoticed by me either that he’s taking the time to stay here with me. That he put his life on hold for me. I’m grateful to have him here; it makes me feel protected.
All that being said, I still might have gotten a little pissy when he went and helped Janet. Sure, she’s married and all, but Ronan was shirtless, and all his muscles were showing as he hauled in her weekly grocery order for her. I know her husband was out of town to deal with a few things but whatever. She might also be pregnant. I have never claimed to be rational, obviously, since I was stalking Ronan.
“Does your cock being hard all the time hurt?” You don’t learn things by not asking questions.
“Ignore it.” He kisses my neck before stepping back.
“Ignore it? It’s the size of my forearm.” I turn around and hold up my arm to show him.
“It’s not that big.” He runs his hand across the top of his head. Ronan’s normal short buzzed hair has grown out over the last week.
“Let’s see, pull it out. We’ll do a side by side.”
“You want a snack before dinner?” Ronan doesn’t crack a smile or anything. It’s a bunch of bullcrap that he can hide his emotions so easily. If I didn’t know better, I would think he didn’t have them, but he cares about me. That I know to be true.
