Like the ring, it’ll all be paid for. By next week, Melissa will have cards and cash of her own, not that I’ll be out of reach if she gets stuck. No way am I letting her go anywhere by herself ever again, not after seeing how fine she looks in clothes that do her curvy little body justice.

She shivers until I console her more, realizing how much I’ve missed her after being in another room a few feet away.

“It’s a lot to take in,” I murmur. “You’ll get used to it. I won’t leave you for so long next time,” I add, gently easing one of her hands down to the front of my pants so she can feel for herself how much I’ve missed her. Her body relaxes instantly. Knowing we have a little privacy, I groan when her tiny hand pumps me through the straining fabric. The scent of her in new clothes and having her finally touch me is about as much as I can take.

“Do we have to shop all day?” she asks, that shiver from her body translating in her breath as a signal I read loud and clear. She gets it, man. You’re rich, and she can have whatever she wants. The only thing either of us needs right now isn’t for sale, but it’s about to be all mine.

“I… I thought I could wait, Mark. I—” she stammers, but I understand. I know exactly how she feels. Sometimes even the best-laid plans get thrown out the window. How did we think we could get through a whole day before we do what we should have done last night?

“I know a place not far from here,” I growl in her ear, already running my hands over her body, pulling her close enough for my arousal to probe her soft flesh under her new outfit.

“Mmmm…” she manages to say before I hear the panting groan in my voice.

“Then let’s get you outta here… and outta those bloody clothes.”

CHAPTER FIFTEEN

Melissa

It’s all so surreal. As soon as I saw Mark, I knew that any man I saw after him could never come close. I never thought, not in a million years, that an older, successful man like him would go for a younger girl half his age with nothing to offer him but herself.

He’s given me the best day of my life so far—the fitting and choosing at the boutique undoes me, though. When he’s around, I have the confidence to do anything. Once he slips off to do something else, I’m all alone with a bunch of assistants who keep bringing rack after rack of clothes that must be worth more than a car.

I don’t just miss him… I need him. I need him to steady my feelings of being overwhelmed. I need to tell him I don’t have to have clothes that cost so much they can’t hang a tag on them. I just want him. That’s all I’ll ever need.

Before he returns from his mystery errand, the lady helping to fit me has a knowing smile and a shining look of satisfaction in her eyes as she straightens out the sensual fabric of a dress I have on.

“You’re one lucky girl,” she says in a low tone. “We offer a full bridal service too if you ever need our assistance,” she adds, shooting me a sly wink in the mirror that smacks not of jealousy or anything nasty. She’s genuinely happy for me, in the way people coo and swoon over babies or new love that’s so obvious it must be painful for those not experiencing it even to watch, but she genuinely looks like she knows something I don’t.

It’s not a bad thing, either.

“I-I’m just not sure which one to choose… These dresses, I mean,” I hear myself stammer, feeling dizzy at the thought of a wedding dress and Mark in the same mental image.

“I think Mr. Meyers is expecting a full wardrobe,” the assistant says, giving a mock look of concern as she holds up yet another set of designer bras and panties that fit and feel almost as good as Mark does. We both giggle like girls, and I crimp my mouth, biting down on the ocean of emotion today has flooded me with.

Everything looks perfect and smells so new and fresh. Knowing I’m here and it’s all paid for by Mark so he can see me wear these things for him…Well, it gives new meaning to the kind of wet I’ve been for him most of the day.

When he reappears, everyone else in the boutique seems to disappear as if on cue. He seems satisfied with the dress, but I see his eyes ticking from the new lingerie to my eyes, then back to “the undies” he referred to earlier. No, I’m not sure two sets for every day of the week will be enough if he’s serious about tearing them off me with his strong teeth every time and with me so wet all day. Maybe I should just start wearing a diaper.
