Finally, he cleared his throat. “Justice didn’t mention that her name was Bianca.”

I thought back to my conversation with him. “I guess I didn’t mention it,” I conceded with a shrug, even though he couldn’t see it.

“I take it you forgot that his eighteen-year-old daughter is named Bianca.”

My eyebrows lifted in shock. “That’s an odd coincidence.”

“Is it?”

“I see where this is going, Jonah. It couldn’t have been Bianca Kendall. She never made it to the Hamptons.”

Jonah was quiet again, and I held back the desire to shout for him to just do his fucking job and find my woman…mainly because that would make me an ungrateful motherfucker.

“I’ll call you in a couple of hours.”

Before I could thank him, he hung up. Encouraged that he would be able to at least find out some scrap of information in only a few hours, I was able to focus and get a little work done.

However, every time my phone rang, I dove on it as though I was waiting for the call to tell me I’d won the lottery. Not a completely inaccurate analogy, though. Bianca was everything I’d ever wanted, even if I hadn’t always known it.

Finally, the number flashing on my screen was Jonah’s.

“Did you find her?” I asked the second I answered the call.

“Yes.”

I waited a few seconds, but when he didn’t immediately continue, I demanded, “Give me her name and address, man. I need to get to her.”

“Why?”

His question made me sputter for a moment. “Why?”

“Yes. Why is she so important? Is it because she left you, so she’s unfinished business? Or she was good in bed, so you want a fling? Is she the love of your life? Or will you tire of her eventually?”

I was pissed as fuck at his insinuation that Bianca was anything less than the center of my world. And even more that he would put her in the fling category and cheapen our night together. But explaining to Jonah wasn’t on my priority list. “What does it matter to you?”

“Because it took me all of a couple minutes to confirm my suspicion that the woman you spent the night with three months ago is Justice’s daughter, Bianca Kendall.”

“No…” I started to protest, but honestly, I wasn’t sure now. If she was, that meant I already had her name and address. However, nabbing her from her parents' place would be nearly impossible. I needed another way to track her.

“She drove up to the Hamptons that night, then left there around five in the morning and headed back home. I followed her on traffic cams, but I also looked at your security footage. It’s Bianca, who is practically my niece.” He growled the last part, and I wondered if he’d already called Justice. It would make things much more complicated, but there was no fucking way I would let him keep her from me.

“That’s why it matters to me,” he continued. “I’m going to tell Justice, but I called you first because I wanted to give you a chance to make up my mind.”

“About what?” I snapped, becoming irritated that he was talking in circles.

“Whether or not I’m going to let him kill you and help him hide the body or try to talk him down a bit so you can work things out. Which I’m warning you now, will still be a hell of a battle.”

I ran a hand over my face and stroked my beard as I leaned back in my chair. “Okay,” I sighed. “How do I get you in my corner?”

Jonah snorted, irritating me even more. “That’s taking it a bit far. But I’m willing to change my approach if you can convince me.”

“Change your approach,” I grunted, rolling my eyes. “You mean call Blair first.”

“Perhaps. Now, tell me why I should give you Bianca’s information.”

“Because she’s the only thing that matters anymore. I fell head over heels in love with her the second we met. I knew right away that she was meant to be my wife and the mother of my children. I want to give her anything she desires. To be her best friend, her lover, her husband, and anything else she needs. When I find her, she’ll be wearing my ring. And”—I grinned, knowing the last bit of information would either convince him to help me or have him on a mission to kill me before he even got around to calling Bianca’s father—“it’s possible that she’s already pregnant.”

“Fuck,” Jonah groaned. “Do you realize how fucking hard you’ve just made this on yourself? Knocking her up before you married her?”

I was done with this conversation. “Do what you have to do, Jonah. But give me her damn phone number or so help me—”

Jonah scoffed but didn’t address my threat. Instead, he rattled off a number and wished me good luck. “You’re going to need it.”
