Displayed in front of the wheel on a glowing platform that reaches my waist is a giant red button the contestants will push to spin the wheel.

I drift towards the platform, my fingers itching to give the big button a push.

“Don’t you dare,” Bry says teasingly behind me. “You’re already taken, Mrs. Ericsson.”

Pouting, I turn to face him. “I was just curious…”

He strides toward me and takes my hand in his.

His thumb caresses the wedding ring on my finger. “You’ll see how it works when someone else pushes it tonight.”

Sighing, I say, “You’re such a killjoy.”

“No, just very, very possessive,” he growls and pulls me into him.

I can’t argue with him on that, so I ask, “Who was on the phone? It sounded important…”

“It was important,” he answers, face darkening again.

“Bad news?”

A slow grin spreads across his lips. “No, good news, in fact.”

“Oh?”

“Yes. My people found Jared.”

I frown at him in confusion. “What do you mean your people found Jared?”

Bry continues to stroke his thumb over my ring. “After you told me what that fucker did to you, I put some people on him. They found him and I just had him served.”

“Holy shit,” I say in awe. “I had no clue you did that…”

Bry’s face grows serious. “No one messes with my wife and gets away with it.”

Yeah, I kind of figured that out after what he did to Chad. Not only is Chad’s name ruined, worth less than shit now, but he did some jail time for both charges of assault. Last I heard of him, his wife had left him, and he was moving back to his parent’s house up north.

“Am I going to get my money back?”

“Doubtful, but I’m still going to sue the shit out of him.”

“That’s good, I suppose,” I say, surprised by the lack of feelings I have over the whole thing.

For so long, what Jared did to me was like a thorn in my side and I wished the worst for him. He not only ruined my credit, he nearly ruined my life. But now that I have Bry and his love, Jared is just… nothing to me. Absolutely nothing.

Bry nods his head then pulls me even closer.

Peering down into my eyes, he says, “Zoe, is there something you want to tell me?”

I blink up at him in confusion at first. My brain still stuck on the whole Jared thing. “No, why?”

“Are you sure?” he gently prompts, but the look in his eyes…

Shit, there’s no way he knows. No way. I hid the pregnancy test in my purse, I know I did. I’m saving the surprise for after the premiere. I’m going to put the pee stick next to his morning coffee.

Unless…

“Oh my god, you really did hide a camera in the bathroom, didn’t you?” I blurt out.

Bry shows absolutely no shame. A smirk curls at the corners of his lips and his eyes glitter with smug satisfaction.

“You freak!” I squeal before he wraps me up in his arms.

I can’t fucking believe he’s still watching those cameras. I thought once he got back, he deactivated all of them.

“I’m only a freak for you, my beautiful, sexy, wife,” he says, squeezing himself around me so I don’t squirm away. “What did the test say? I couldn’t get a close enough look…”

I should totally punish him for spying on me and ruining my surprise, but I just can’t. Between that desperate tone in his voice, and those puppy dog eyes…

“You’re going to be a daddy,” I say softly and watch his face light up with joy.

The End
