She makes a muffled sound of complaint, but all I do is pull my fingers out, smack her hard across both cheeks, then press them firmly back inside.

“Tell me that you are mine with your words, or I will make you tell me with your body.”

That’s when she really starts to fight. Every captive reaches this point eventually, a last-ditch attempt to assert autonomy. This is the fight I really have to win.

I smack her ass, which only serves to make her more fractious. She flips around on my lap, struggling like a fish out of water, and grabs for my face. She might be trying to gouge my eyes, and she doesn’t succeed at that. But she does get a good grip on my balaclava.

A moment later, it is off.

Her eyes widen.

“You!”

“Not the reveal I had planned, but yes. Me.”

CHAPTER 7

Laura

Oh, my god.

It’s Dr. Rollins.

My psychology professor.

The world-renowned, multi-book deal author, teaching at our shitty little school out of the goodness of his heart, Dr. Samuel Rollins. Sexy, apparently stone-cold sociopath (not a clinical term) Samuel Rollins.

“What the fuck?”

He smirks at me. His eyes are darker than I remember them being in class. His features are slightly shifted too. It’s definitely him, but I am seeing him differently because this situation is so fucked up.

“Why?”

He shifts me to sit up on his lap, and in an instant I remember all the things he did to me. I remember how filthy he was when he fucked me multiple times. How even now, I have his cum drying on the inside of my thighs.

“Why me?”

“Because you need this more than anybody I have ever encountered,” he says, brushing some stray hair away from my face. “You came to my class and you worked so hard. You weren’t the first or only student working hard, but you had a genuineness to you, an innocence. You are trying to survive in a deep way.”

“You mean I seemed like good and easy prey to you because I don’t have a lot of support and I have to look after myself so I’m independent enough to be able to fuck with like this?”

“That’s not what I said,” he says.

“But it’s what you meant. You saw prey. Asshole.”

I try to slap him in the face, but he captures my hand easily. He moves fast as hell for a scholar. I can’t believe I’ve been in his class after he came and fucked me. He must have been looking at me the day after, enjoying every bit of unsettled energy I was displaying.

“Behave yourself,” he reminds me in a soft tone.

He is a very handsome man. He has the kind of features that make him look sexy and intelligent at the same time. There’s nothing brutish about his appearance, but there’s everything brutish about his thoughts and his actions. He looks like he stepped out of a book about intellectual gentlemen. Sherlock Holmes crossed with Moriarty.

“You have to let me go,” I say.

“Why?”

“Because I’ve got an assignment due this coming Tuesday.”

He smirks at my little joke that was barely only almost a joke.

“Please,” I say, letting my voice drop into a more desperate whimper. “I won’t tell anyone who you are, I promise.”

“Of course you won’t,” he says. “An undergrad at a community college accusing me of stalking and kidnapping her would find herself locked away in a ward of some kind sooner rather than later.”

“Are you threatening me?”

He slides a powerful hand around the back of my neck and squeezes. “No, darling. You don’t need to be threatened, and that is why I chose you, because deep down, you want to be here. You want to be taken. You want to have someone look after you completely. You want to be pleasured. And above all, you want the kind of safety that can only ever come from being with a man who owns you completely.”

There’s something deeply seductive about the way he is talking to me. The assuredness in his voice. He believes I both want and need this, and maybe he is right. I remember him telling us how predators have an almost preternatural ability to discern the vulnerabilities of people they chose to prey on. It’s an instinct they have that becomes sharpened over time as they move through the world. This man is an apex predator.

“Are you going to kill me?”

“Of course not. Killing you would defeat the purpose entirely. I want to keep you for myself. I want to give you a life you would never otherwise have known. And I want you to have my babies.”

“Right. Because there’re not enough kids being born into weird captive situations. You absolute psycho!”

“Now, what did I tell you about that term?”

“It’s not technically accurate because the psychos who wrote the book took it out probably, if they’re anywhere as crazy as you are.”
