“It’s mutual,” Kingsley replied. He was next to shake Jack’s hand. “At the risk of putting you on the spot, let me know if boundaries change. We don’t want to overstep.”

It meant a lot to me that Kingsley brought that up—and that he did it to Jack instead of me. Since we hadn’t discussed anything beyond “let’s have fun this week,” that little snippet established a hierarchy in which Jack was above me.

Judging by the expression on Jack’s face, he appreciated it too. “We haven’t gotten that far. Franklin’s a flight risk. Either way, I have no wish to cause a rift.”

Wait, what? Flight risk?

Tate lifted his brows and turned to his Master. “I like him already. He’s got the whore pegged. No pun intended.”

Kingsley and Jack found that funny.

I frowned. “I’m not a flight risk. Why would I want to escape this scene? Despite my lackluster breakfast, I’m ready to take my clothes off.”

Kingsley snorted and bit into his bagel.

Tate shook his head at me.

“That’s the whole point, Unc.” Jack squeezed my shoulder as he passed me. “You think in terms of scenes and playtime. And that’s okay. Who wants an omelet? Franklin didn’t have cream in the house, so it’s more like scrambled eggs shaped like an omelet.”

Okay, today I was going to the store. I had to up my game.

Hi, Franklin. I already sent the following message to Jack, but he hasn’t responded yet. Hope you can make it!

Okay, friends. By Friday, you’ve eaten your body weight in turkey, and you’ve probably done some shopping too. This is an invitation to a chill meetup on the rooftop. And the rumor is true, we do have two hot tubs up there now. The inflatable kind! It’s possible I’ve already tried them out, for science.

Swimwear optional. If you accept the invitation, see Venmo details below. It’s twenty bucks, which covers drinks (the basics from the bar), snacks, lube, oil, condoms, towels, use of facilities, etc.

NOTE: You know the rules, ask before you touch. However, the hot tub in the left corner will be a free-for-all. If you sit your slut ass down in that tub, you’ve given your consent to be approached physically. Don’t like it? Get out of the tub. This is the one place for those who like to be groped and/or engage in consensual non-con. Safewords still apply!

When? Nine PM. The restaurant is still open at that hour, so it’s important that you DON’T SHOW UP IN KINKY OUTFITS. Save the leather, save the puppy tails, save the slave threads. Show up in nice clothes, or I’ll kick you out. Only use the bathroom adjacent to the rooftop. We just had it renovated, and it has a shower. You have until tomorrow night to RSVP.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST: Be clean and good-smelly, and please forward the results of your latest STI screening when you RSVP. Safety first, gentlemen.

I’ll send out an attendance list on Friday morning.

Love you all,

Mack

PS: This is a small, last-minute gathering. Don’t share this invitation with anyone else.

“Heavens.” I quickly turned off the heat on the stove and hurried out of the kitchen, rounded the corner, and went down the hallway. Past my bedroom, past Lily’s room, and then I knocked quietly on the door to my study.

Jack had been holed up in there all day.

I wasn’t going to complain, though. I’d had to spend a few hours at the office both yesterday after Kingsley and Tate’s impromptu visit and then this morning again. But at least Jack was here. His luggage was parked in my bedroom. He’d sleep in my bed till he had to fly home on Monday morning. A date I wasn’t looking forward to at all.

I was, on the other hand, looking forward to tomorrow. Jack had gotten us lunch reservations at Sequoia for Thanksgiving. Just the two of us. We’d eat as much as we could fit into our stomachs, and then we’d be back here for a day of watching old horror movies and complaining about how full we were.

“Yeah?”

I opened the door and poked my head in.

He was seated behind my desk, two laptops up, and he was on the phone but cocked his head, giving his attention to me.

“Did you read Macklin’s text, son?” I asked quietly.

His lips tugged at the corners, and he inclined his head.

“May I RSVP that we’re coming?”

He grinned and nodded once more.

I smiled widely.

“That’s not what I said, Aaron,” he told…Aaron. “If you’re sending them all the way to Tokyo, you gotta fucking prepare them first.” He went back into business mode, a very sexy look on him, but before I could duck out and give him privacy, he motioned for me to come to him. “No, it’s definitely not their problem.” He laughed humorlessly. “How do you think it’ll reflect on us? Huh?”
