As Jack snuck away to get dressed, I poured coffee for Kingsley and Tate too. Then I sliced the bagels and started setting the kitchen island for our breakfast. At some point today, I was going to ask Jack to just check out of his hotel. He should stay with me for the rest of the week.

He should spend Thanksgiving with me, unless he had other plans. Actually, if he did have other plans, he should cancel them and be with me instead.

I wanted to fucking inhale him.

My whole body was buzzing.

It made no sense. My wants and my desires didn’t match my dating profile, in which I could not be clearer: I didn’t want anything serious. No attachments. The ink on my divorce papers hadn’t dried yet.

“Breakfast is served,” I called. From the fridge, I grabbed what I could find. Leftover waffle toppings and cream cheese.

I should go to the store…

Tate was first to join me in the kitchen, and he glanced at the spread. “Hon, I have some things to teach you. Presuming Jack is the Dom of the house, you’re gonna wanna spoil him here and there.”

I did. I truly did. “You know I’m useless in the kitchen.”

“You’re not too old to learn. Listen to my boy.” Kingsley gave my shoulder a squeeze before he sat down on one of the stools. “By the way, did he vanish into thin air?”

“Jack? He’s getting dressed,” I replied, handing him his coffee.

I owed the decorator another thank-you for insisting I buy four stools. I’d been so sure two would be sufficient, one for me and one for Lily.

Noticing that Tate was preparing a bagel for Kingsley, who was reading something on his phone, my first reaction was, That’s not me. I’m not that type of submissive. I liked to call myself a fetishist—after Tate had explained the term to me. Sure, I was on the submissive side of the spectrum, but I was only interested in the sex-oriented play. Not the domestic lifestyle part of BDSM.

Correct?

Then logic kicked in and pointed out that I’d been involved in kink for approximately two minutes.

What did I know?

Other than…some part of me definitely wanted to please Jack even outside the bedroom. Make him smile. Make him happy. Something I’d already admitted to myself, but now came the time to consider the hows.

Being new was exceptionally confusing at times. At the age of forty-seven, I was supposed to know myself better.

“Hell. Noa actually got the permit.” Kingsley showed his screen to Tate, who smiled.

“Aw, he’s so excited. So I guess you’ll be playing spotter at the gig tomorrow.”

“Permit for what?” I asked.

“Master and I did a private fire flogging display the other week,” Tate explained. “Noa discovered fire drumming is a thing, and he immediately jumped at the idea of incorporating that into a gig with his band—if that was possible. And I guess it is.”

Kingsley inclined his head and lifted his coffee mug to his lips. “He’ll be drummin’ with fire tomorrow.” He took a sip.

That didn’t seem safe at all. “Won’t he injure himself?”

Noa was so…little. And utterly fearless.

“Nah.” Kingsley wasn’t worried. “He’s talking about an intro. A whole show would pose more problems, but for a minute or so, it’s all good. He asked if we could meet up at the place in Alexandria tomorrow, so I think I’ll head over there during my lunch break. He’s already gotten his hands on Kevlar drumsticks.”

Tate turned pensive. “I guess you have to make some adjustments to the skins on the drums too? I don’t think the fire will cause any damage, but if whatever lighter fluid you’ll use for the sticks drops onto the equipment…”

Kingsley nodded along. “I’ll think of something.”

I was a bit baffled. Constantly in awe and baffled. The kinksters in my community weren’t always just kinky. They were circus acts too, evidently.

The only entertainment I needed stepped into the kitchen a second later, and I smiled instinctively. He was back in yesterday’s clothes, and he looked so handsome.

Last night, I’d fallen asleep with his cock in my mouth and his fingers lightly scratching my scalp.

“From one fire to another,” I said. Rather smoothly, if I may say so. “I’d like you to meet Jack. He’s turned my world upside down the past two days.”

That earned me a sexy grin from him.

“Jack, this is Kingsley and his gossip brat, Tate,” I added. “I have no idea how much Macklin has told him, but I’m guessing everything.”

“You bet, hon.” Tate tossed me a smirk before he shifted his attention to Jack and extended a hand. “It’s great to meet you, Jack. I hope we’ll get the chance to make Franklin’s life miserable together.”

By all means, beautiful boys.

“I’m ready to get creative,” Jack chuckled. He shook Tate’s hand firmly. “Good to meet you too. Franklin’s very fond of you.”
