Rachel’s eyes lit. The idea of getting air and escaping the building seemed to do it for her. “Yes, please,” she said.

“Great. Come with me.” As they left, he flipped Jinx off behind his back. The deep sound of the maniac’s laughter followed him.

As soon as they made it outside, Rachel let out a long breath. “Thank you,” she said. “The past few days have been a little overwhelming, and I’m having a hard time catching up with it in my head.”

He led her to two Adirondack chairs around the fire pit. Later, once the decorating madness ended, they’d light a fire and end the night out here. But for now, it was quiet, with only the two of them sitting outside.

“I can only imagine.” He knew the feeling well. After he’d left the comfort of a home he’d lived in his entire life, he’d felt lost and overwhelmed by every little occurrence. Those first few months alone were the hardest days of his life. Worse even than being incarcerated.

He sipped his beer. It was good shit. Some winter ale Spec discovered last week.

“It’s nice out here. Peaceful.”

He glanced over to find her sitting with her eyes closed and a serene smile on her face. That she felt safe and comfortable enough with him to shut her eyes would have had him fluffing his feathers if he’d been a peacock. As it was, he took a moment to study her.

It’d been so long since he’d been with a woman he barely remembered his type. But looking at Rachel made him realize his past type didn’t matter. She was his type with her soft-looking skin, her small breasts, and the plump lips he wanted to feel against his own and see wrapped around his cock.

One second of those thoughts had him chubbing up.

He wanted her.

Bad.

She was his president’s sister, and he was harder for her than any woman in recent memory.

A low groan filled the air, and by the time he realized he’d made it, her eyes were open, and her soft gaze zeroed in on him. Her mouth parted on a soft puff of air he swore he could feel against his skin even though two feet separated them.

Wishful thinking.

A gentle breeze blew, catching her hair and blowing some across her face. Before she could brush it away, he reached out and tucked the strands behind her ear. Her skin felt like silk beneath his fingertips. The way her eyes widened and she sucked in a breath, had him pressing the heel of his hand against his unruly cock.

“Frost,” she whispered with a mixture of regret and desire in her voice.

“I know,” he said. “This is a terrible idea.”

“The worst,” she whispered.

If Curly caught Frost drooling over his baby sister, he’d not only kick his ass to the curb, but he’d skin him alive. Then he would sew his president patch on Frost’s hide and wear it as his new cut.

Even with that knowledge, he couldn’t remove his hand from her face. It simply wouldn’t go. He traced the shell of her ear, eliciting a tremor from her. Not the fearful kind she’d had before, but one full of anticipation.

The door creaked, and they drew apart so fast Frost’s neck cracked.

Curly appeared a second later. “Hey, Rachel,” he said, moving toward his sister. “The guys told me you were out here getting some air. Glad you came.”

She beamed at her brother, which was enough to deflate any ideas Frost had of picking up where they’d left off. He couldn’t touch the president’s sister, for fuck’s sake.

“Think Brooke’s about to start decorating the tree. I’ve been informed if I ever want to get laid again, I’ll make sure everyone’s there to help.” Curly shrugged, which made Rachel laugh.

She stood. “Well, I’m not about to be the one to condemn you to a life of celibacy.”

Frost almost groaned out loud. He might be the poor asshole condemned to a life of celibacy. Especially if his dick was as enamored with Rachel as he was beginning to think it was.

“You good?” Curly asked her while throwing a curious look Frost’s way.

“So far, yes.” She shrugged. “It is a lot of people, though.”

“Remember what I told you the other day.”

She nodded and began for the door with her brother. Frost started to stand when she whispered something to her brother, then ran back to him as Curly went into the clubhouse.

“You’re going to think I’m insane,” she said as she stopped about a foot away from him. “You’re big, you have tattoos, you don’t smile much….” She laughed and shook her head as though in disbelief of her own thoughts. “But I’m not scared of you. If you knew me better, you’d know what a huge accomplishment that is. Anyway, I want to apologize in advance if I seem a little needy or seek you out more than anyone. I’m not trying to be clingy. I feel safe around you more than anyone else in the room. More than anyone, period, really, so I’ll probably gravitate toward you all night. But if it’s too much and you need me to back off, please say so.”
