Calder ignored her struggles. “You wouldn’t have been done with her till she left in a body bag and your ass was back in jail.”

“Like I said, I wasn’t done! Where are you taking me?” Staring down at the floor was fucking with her equilibrium. Either that or the tequila was fucking with her.

“Well, I was gonna take you to a room so I could fuck your crazy brains out.” He stopped walking down the hallway to open a door. At a “Get out!” he slammed the door, going farther down the hall.

“Oh… you were?” Her body started getting warm, not knowing if it was from the alcohol or his words, but her tongue finally started to sweeten up.

“Yes, and I still am, if you’re wondering.” Calder kicked in another door then kicked it closed, tossing her down on the bed as he started to strip.

Her mouth watered when she saw how hard he was. “What did it for you? The dancing, or me almost killing Ginger?”

“When you nearly made Bear piss himself.”

Calder grabbed a condom then kicked his jeans out of his way.

She shimmied out of her tight black skirt then spread her legs. “Is hot thang ready?”

“Fuck yes. You’re not wearing panties.”

She wiggled on the bed. “They get in the way.”

“Yes, they do.” Giving a loud groan, he pulled her to the edge of the bed.

“I thought you deserved a little something-something for taking care of those little fuckers from Eastern.”

“Stud and I would have taken care of Sam, too, if we had found him.”

“Forget about Sam. You have bigger fish to fry.”

“Like what?”

“Like putting that big dick where it can do the most good.”

She screamed out in pleasure when he drove into her over and over again. It was hard to get her words out through the hard fucking, but she finally managed.

“I thought I might have turned you off back there with my craziness.”

Leaning down, he took her mouth for a hard kiss while he continued what she hoped would be an endless night of fucking. “You might be a crazy bitch, but you’re my crazy bitch.”

Crazy Bitch pushed her sunglasses up the bridge of her nose.

“Are you feeling okay?”

She gave Nettie a wane smile. “I’m fine. I must have eaten something bad last night.”

Or drank too much, she thought to herself. Every bone in her body was sore, and her stomach was queasy. She and Calder had gone hard. God knew she wasn’t complaining about her two-day fuck-fest, but she was still paying the price for the tequila on Saturday night.

Damn, it was disheartening to feel the effects after two days. She remembered when two bottles wouldn’t even give her a buzz. Of course, those bottles had been shared with the other bitches, but still, it was a hard pill to swallow.

“Onions do me that way.”

The thought of onions made her even queasier. The sun shining down directly on her head had her glad she had grabbed a bottle of water from an ice chest at the groundbreaking ceremony.

Lucky stood on the makeshift stage, which consisted of Greer Porter’s lowered tailgate. Townspeople from Treepoint had driven to Jamestown to the dedication of the extension of the women’s shelter.

Nettie sniffed into a tissue she was holding. “I’ve been waiting for this moment for six years. If my daughter had had a place like this to turn to, she would not be where she is now.”

“Is she in the crowd?” Crazy Bitch asked, wishing she had worn a big, floppy hat like Nettie’s. Looking around, she didn’t see anyone she didn’t recognize.

“No. Charlotte is in prison.”

She turned her sunglasses toward Nettie. “What’d she do?”

“Her husband was a lunatic. He had been so sweet when they got married. He was the son-in-law I always wanted. After they had my grandson, he became jealous of every man she talked to. He would read her emails, listen to her phone calls. Charlotte had enough when he started becoming violent with her. I begged her to come and stay with me, or one of our friends, but she wouldn’t. She was too afraid he would hurt me or one of them.”

Her sick stomach grew worse.

“That was before I knew you, Sex Piston, and Lily. She didn’t feel like she had a safe place to stay, so she stayed home, took out an order of protection, and filed for divorce. Mike stayed away, other than filing for primary custody. I thought he was handling the divorce well, yet Charlotte kept saying it was all an act. That he kept breaking into her house and her car.

“That night, I called to say good night to her, and the next thing I knew, a friend who lived next to Charlotte called to tell me that she had been arrested for killing Mike and his brother when they had tried to take my grandson.”
