“Hey little guy,” he growls. “I can’t wait until you get here.”
“I know, me neither,” I agree as I get up and put on my coat. “OMG, I can’t stop smiling. This is literally the happiest I’ve ever been in my life,” I burble. But then I turn to my man. “Speaking of which, I’ve been meaning to ask if you fired Kaci Stott? You know, Mike Stott’s daughter?”
“No,” Stone grunts as we walk out into the parking lot. “It’s not her fault that she has a dickhead for a dad. We don’t choose our parents, after all.” I nod as we get in the car.
“That’s true,” I muse. “Kaci’s nothing like what her dad thinks either. I mean, he thinks she’s so pure and innocent, but she’s the opposite. Talk about having a double life.”
Stone nods as revs the car and then pulls it out onto the road. We’re headed to my favorite coffee shop where I’m going to load up on cinnamon rolls and bear paws. Now that I’m pregnant, I basically eat everything in sight, and my husband encourages it.
“Yeah, Kaci’s got a reputation at the Corinthian too. I mean, I don’t generally get involved with gossip but you know my secretary knows everything, and she says that Kaci Stott is sleeping with a couple guys simultaneously.”
I gasp.
“OMG. Are they all co-workers?”
Stone’s expression is a little grim as he pulls into our coffee spot.
“Yeah, I think so. I just hope this doesn’t become an HR issue.”
I nod.
“Well, I just know that it would be a kick to her dad’s head because Kaci took a promise vow too. Seeing that her dad is Mike Stott, she was practically forced to be first in line, in fact. And I don’t think she’s doing the Mormon Dick Soak at all,” I stress. “I mean, she’s a girl who walks on the wild side and loves sharing her body, from what I heard.”
Stone merely shakes his head, helping me to a seat in the store.
“Well, look at you, knowing all the hotel gossip,” he grins. “How did you find out about all this anyway? You stopped working for Thunder Strike a while ago.”
I wink.
“I know, but I have my sources,” I say mysteriously. “Besides you know I want to go back after the baby’s born. Just part-time,” I clarify. “I want to spend some quality time with my son first.”
“Of course,” Stone murmurs before pressing a kiss to my hand. “Whatever you want, baby.”
But then, after my husband gets our pastries, I wink at him.
“By the way, I have more gossip for you.”
My handsome man pretend-scowls.
“Oh my God, it’s too much. Don’t tell me,” he moans.
I merely giggle.
“No, it’s really juicy. But you know my friend Renee? The really cute one who works for the church? I’m still in touch with her even if I’m not a member of Sanctuary anymore.”
Stone nods.
“Yes, what about her?”
I lean in, lowering my voice conspiratorially.
“Well, I think she’s sleeping with one of the Church elders. She hasn’t exactly admitted it yet, but let’s just say the last time we had coffee, she was hinting at it. It’s pretty insane, and I think they’re doing something called the Mormon Dildo Challenge.”
Stone’s facial expression is priceless, and I can’t help but giggle.
“You must be shitting me. Do I even want to know what that is? I thought things stopped with the Mormon Dick Soak.”
I shake my head and shoot him a sly look.
“Nope, not at all. In fact, it’s very dirty and we might try it ourselves one day.”
He huffs with pretend exasperation.
“Okay, tell me.”
“Well, it’s this thing where the man lines up a series of dildos, each one bigger than the last. Then, the woman sits down on the smallest one, showing him what she can do. Then, she goes up to the next biggest size, and so on and so forth. It stretches her out before … well, you know, before that happens. She lands in his lap,” I finish triumphantly.
Stone blinks at me, totally stunned.
“Are you serious? Is this a thing?”
I nod conspiratorially.
“Yeah, we’ve talked about it before although I wasn’t sure anyone was actually doing it. It was just a rumor, but I think Renee is actually taking on the Mormon Dildo Challenge with her secret boyfriend. It’s so bad, right? And she looks like such a good girl on the outside!”
Stone whistles, shaking his head with amazement.
“Holy shit,” he grunts. “Who knew these religious girls could be so crazy?”
I merely shrug, biting into my bear claw.
“I know right? Aren’t you so glad you met me? After all, it turns out that Sanctuary girls are all kinky whores at heart.”
Stone merely chuckles before pressing his lips to mine in an altogether inappropriate-for-public kiss.
“I am glad I met you,” he rumbles against my mouth. “I’m the luckiest man in the world, Tanya Thompson.”
