Her arm was the easy part. Next, she tried to move her leg, but as she lifted up, he seemed to shift in the bed.

Was he awake?

She winced.

He’d made love to her last night.

Wolf Jackson, the monster who sold women, made love to her. She hesitated in pulling away and knew she couldn’t dwell on any of what she was thinking.

She had to use the bathroom.

Actually, she had to create some distance between them just so she could think. Right now, she didn’t know what to make of what had happened, and it was kind of freaking her out.

Deep breathing was too much of a challenge right now. She didn’t want to alert Wolf to the fact she was awake.

With her leg off him, she tried to lift up, but all of a sudden, Wolf was above her with her hands pinned at her head.

“Going somewhere?” he asked.

“The bathroom.”

“Then go to the bathroom. Don’t try to sneak off.”

“You were awake?” she asked.

“I was awake before you. I’m a light sleeper.”

“Is that from having to deal with your conscience?” she asked, wincing. Why was she trying to upset a man who clearly had a gun and knew what he was doing? There was no sense in it. She didn’t have a death wish.

“No, I just don’t sleep well.” He dropped a kiss to her lips before lifting up. “Go to the bathroom.”

Rain got up, aware of her naked state, and Wolf tugged on the blanket, clearly not giving it up so she could have any kind of dignity.

“Please,” she said.

“You don’t need the blanket to use the bathroom. You can go.”

She gritted her teeth, trying to remain calm, even though it was the furthest thing from what she felt.

I can do this.

Had she ever really done the morning-after routine?

Never.

“I can’t just walk to the bathroom naked.”

“Why not?” he asked.

“You’re … annoying.”

“And you need to learn to live a little.”

She shot a glare at him past her shoulder and got to her feet, walking quickly toward the bathroom, not caring if he stared at her at all.

Once inside the bathroom, she slammed the door closed, and of course, there was no lock. Where was luck when she needed it?

Collapsing against the door, she put her hands to her face and groaned.

“It’s fine. It’s all fine. I can handle this.” She used the toilet, washed her hands then her face, all the while avoiding her reflection.

She didn’t need to see her naked state.

After reaching for the toothbrush, she squirted some paste onto the head, then brushed her teeth.

She glanced in the mirror, and rather than see herself, it was like she felt Wolf inside her. The hard length of his cock glided in and out of her, commanding her. He’d felt so good. She had loved it when he sped up, but when he slowed down, she’d felt every single inch of his dick.

Even when he came, the hard pulses as he filled her.

She removed the toothbrush and spat the paste in the sink, washing it afterward. Putting the toothbrush back in her mouth, she got to work cleaning her teeth way more than she needed.

Going out and facing him seemed way too difficult.

After finishing with her mouth, she swilled out with water, missing her mouthwash. Once she’d cleaned up the mess behind her, she paused, holding the sponge in her palm, staring at it.

She’d done this with Daniel.

Toward the last few months with him, where hanging out wasn’t fun. Where his bitterness became a constant challenge. Where he’d insult her, or Evelyn. His anger at the world and at her for not fixing him.

Rain lifted her gaze toward the mirror.

Evelyn hated her father. She didn’t want reminders of Daniel, and to a point, Rain got it. Evelyn was young. To many people, losing a dad caused children to act out. But what about her?

Her parents would have just gloated. Told her that they knew best from the start and she should have listened to them.

How many hours did she spend cleaning something that was already spotless just to avoid an argument? So many hours. Especially when Evelyn fell asleep.

Rain ran the sponge beneath the water, rinsed it out, and put it on the counter.

Opening the bathroom door, she stepped back into the room, staring at Wolf, who stood less than a foot away.

She didn’t know what came over her. There were no tears. No anger. No hatred. Staring at Wolf, who looked at her with a hunger she didn’t know she was capable of causing, something snapped inside her.

Within seconds, she went to him, wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling him down to kiss.

His hands went to her ass, and she needed it. His hands. His touch. His everything.

Sliding her hands down his body, she found the hard ridge of his cock. Still rock hard, and she moved him toward the bed, knowing what she wanted.
