I don’t know if it’s his nearness or my body just lights up when he’s around, but I’m already wet, and between that and his own blood, he slides two fingers inside me easily. “Do you feel that?”

I nod.

“No. Tell me you feel it. Say it.”

Swallowing hard, I nod again. “I feel it.”

He curls his fingers inside me, touching a spot that makes me jump, then my body hum. “Oh, you felt that, didn’t you, Malyshka? Don’t worry, I’ll make it so good for you. Just for you tonight.”

He pumps his fingers in as he scrapes his teeth down the side of my neck. I tighten my muscles against him, wanting more, needing more. He’s right, I feel it, and I’m terrified of losing it all again. “Please.”

“You don’t have to beg me for this.” He slides his hand from my body, gently parts my thighs, and kneels between them. His bare head, haloed in tattoos, kneeling with his face an inch from my pussy, is enough to push me headlong toward orgasm. My whole body contracts just looking at him.

He uses his thumbs to pull my folds apart, then leans forward and sucks my clit into his mouth. I arch off the covers and grab onto the back of his head, needing grounding. He bites gently, then sucks again, sending shock waves of pleasure through my system. When he sucks a third time, I come in great gasping breaths. His hands grip my thighs so tightly I’ll have bruises.

When he lifts his face to look at me, I stare down at him. “Don’t fucking hurt me like that again.”

“So you forgive me?”

I narrow my eyes. “It’s going to take more than you eating me out to earn my forgiveness.”

A smile starts at the corner of his lips, bloody and jagged from the cuts on his face. “Then I guess I better get started.”

IVAN

Two days later, when Adrian calls to tell me Arthur is ready to hold up his end of the deal, I still feel like a raw open wound. I let him get to me, and that feels like I’ve let him in somehow. For a second, I let him do exactly what he planned and ruined whatever had begun between Cilla and me.

Now, all I want is to see his blood run between my fingers. Even more than before, I imagine putting my knife to his throat and giving him that one final deadly smile.

If I voice these desires to Priscilla, she’ll try to talk me out of it. Well, maybe.

Since the night of the party, she’s different. Colder. Quieter, and it kills something inside me that I did that to her. That I have her feeling unsafe around me for even a second.

I slide a plate of food across the table to her. It’s nothing more than a huge heaping plate of mixed fruit, one of her favorites for breakfast, but she merely picks at it. “Do we have to see him again? What if Adrian or Kai handles the end of the deal? It was made with them, after all.”

As much as I wish I could give her this, I can’t, not after what Sal’s family, her family, did to mine. We all need to be there to witness the end of it. “I’m sorry, Malyshka, but we have to go. I need to see this through.”

Her gaze hops from the pineapple she’s poking at to my face. “And when it’s over, will you kill my father?”

It would be easy to lie to her, tell her no, even though I plan to kill him soon. But I don’t. “Not today. I won’t kill him today.”

We dress quickly, and I text Alexei to meet me at the car. He’s been staying in another apartment so he’s always nearby if we leave. I give him a nod as we climb into the vehicle to head to Arthur’s compound. It kills me to take her back there, but she needs to see this end as much as I do. She just doesn’t realize it.

It doesn’t take long to get there, and I help her out of the back of the big SUV. She tugs down the hem of the sweater, then drops her chin to head inside.

I pull her back to me, my chest to her shoulder blades. “Lift your chin and stare straight ahead. You are my wife now, and you tuck tail for no one, especially a man who hurt you as incredibly as that one did.”

She stiffens in my hold for a moment, then gently pulls from my grasp. But I’m proud to see she keeps her chin up and her eyes forward.

We wait by the door for Adrian and the others to arrive. The only other woman with us, besides Cilla, is Andrea. Of course, she’d want to be here most of all.
