Fox, Brody, and Autumn

Autumn let out a screech, throwing herself at Brody, who somehow managed to catch her without falling over.

Brody glared at the Fox as he held her tight. “Cowbell.”

“Fuck. Sorry, Bunny. Are you all right? Did Daddy scare you?” he crooned, reaching for her and lifting her up onto his hip. “What happened?”

“Brody-bear burned himself,” she managed to get out.

“What? Where? How?” The Fox set her on the counter and reached for Brody. “Show me, Pup.”

“It’s barely even a burn,” Brody said with clear embarrassment.

The Fox grabbed his chin. “Show me.”

Brody blew out a breath. “Fine. See.” He held out his wrist. Autumn glanced over at it, wincing at the red spot on his skin.

“Poor Brody-bear. You’ve got an ouchie. Want me to kiss it and make it better?” she asked.

“Maybe after we’ve put some cream on it, Bunny,” the Fox said.

She nodded and moved closer to Brody while still sitting on the counter. The Fox turned the faucet on, then stood behind Brody, crowding him as he placed his wrist under the water.

“Keep that right there. Don’t move. I’m going to get the First-Aid kit.”

“I’ll keep an eye on him, Daddy. Tutu is on the job.”

“Don’t think I haven’t forgotten that you were limping before,” he warned her. He picked up Freddy Fox, who must have gone flying from her hand earlier when she’d hit her toe. He handed him to her, and she held him tight. Then he grabbed a small icepack from the freezer that had a cartoon fox on it. “You just stay on the counter and off your foot.” He moved her leg so she was resting sideways on the counter with her foot elevated and placed the ice pack on her toes.

“Aye-aye, Captain Daddy!”

He raised a gray eyebrow. It should be weird, seeing him in disguise. At the moment, he appeared to be a balding man in his fifties with a small pouch of a tummy. Very different from the dark-haired man in his early forties whose abs just didn’t quit. But it was like she didn’t really notice the disguises anymore.

The Fox eyed her.

“I’ll watch her, Papa,” Brody said.

He looked back and forth between them. “You’re both as bad as each other.”

She gasped, insulted. “We are not, Daddy! I’m way worse than Brody-bear.” She grinned.

Brody snorted out a laugh. “She is.”

“Agreed,” the Fox replied. “Just stay put. Anyone who moves gets twice the spanking they’re already owed.”

“What spanking, Daddy? We been good.”

“That so? What time is it, baby girl?”

“I’m not old enough to tell the time, Daddy.” She was proud of herself for that comeback. Sometimes, being a Little was the bomb. Hmm, she wondered if the kids were still saying that. She was sure they were because she was just that cool.

The Fox pressed a button on her watch and the time was announced in a robotic voice. “It is one-thirty-three a.m.”

“Oh, Brussel sprouts,” she muttered.

The Fox just shook his head and disappeared out of the kitchen, muttering something about having to put First-Aid kits in every room. She didn’t know why he thought he had to do that. Although, Brody-bear could be a tad clumsy.

She turned her head, peering over at his wrist. “Ouchie, I’m sorry you got hurt making me a bottle.” Swinging herself around, her ice pack went flying, but she didn’t pay it any attention. She rested her head on his shoulder.

“Hey, it’s not your fault, Tutu.” He turned and hugged her. “Don’t feel bad. It’s just a little burn. And it’s my fault for making your bottle too hot. Okay?”

“Okay,” she agreed. “Quick, best put your wrist back under the water before he comes back. Shoot, where’s my ice pack?”

“Here.” Brody turned and grabbed it off the floor and she got back into position.

Brody slid his wrist back under the water just as the Fox came into the kitchen. Whew. Just in time. That saved his backside from another spanking. The one he already had coming was going to be bad enough. He clenched his butt cheeks together.

“Now, I know that you didn’t disobey me and take your wrist out from under the water, did you, Pup?” the Fox drawled, coming up behind him.

The heat of his body made Brody shiver. He was dressed in a pair of pajama bottoms with candy canes all over them and a black, tight T-shirt. Tutu was wearing a onesie with bears all over it that he’d bought for her. He thought she looked super cute.

“It was my fault, Daddy,” Tutu said hastily. “My ice pack went flying.”

“All by itself?” the Fox drawled.

“Well, I might have moved a little bit.” Tutu gave him a wide smile.

“Hmm, you both just added ten extras to your punishment.”

“Fudge knuckles,” Tutu muttered.

Ooh, that was a good one. They were both having fun coming up with alternatives to swearing. At least when in Little and Middle headspace.
