And I'm dying to feel her wrapped around me again. Preferably in private, with far fewer clothes between us this time. But I'm guessing she's not going to let me get her naked until she's finished running from whatever she's running from. So I'm going to run with her.

I'll chase her sexy ass all over town. Sooner or later, she'll realize I'm not going anywhere. She'll confess her secrets. Then I can fix the problem, and we can get to the important shit. Like putting my kid in her. I want a little girl just as wild as she is. And at least two boys to help watch over her.

She backed into me and stole my heart. It's fast but screw it. I've waited long enough to fall. This girl is mine. My instincts have been screaming that truth at me since I met her. I've never questioned my judgment or instincts before now. I'm not going to start now.

"We're here." She slams on the brakes in front of a stately ranch-style house on the outskirts of Silver Spoon Falls. The small pond in the distance lends it a certain charm that's rare where I'm from. There are no yards in Los Angeles, at least not like this. This is where you go to raise babies, make memories, and grow old. L.A. is a concrete jungle.

"And where is here?" I ask, unlatching my seatbelt.

"I already told you that." She shakes her head, pocketing the keys. "We're here to see a former CIA agent. You don't listen very well, Xavier."

"Oh, I heard you, kitten. I just have ninety questions."

"Ask later. I'm on a countdown."

"To what?"

"Doomsday," she mutters, her brows crinkling with worry. For a moment, she looks lost and alone, as if the weight of the world really does rest on her shoulders. I don't fucking like it. At all. But before I can demand answers, she shakes it off, pasting a bright smile on her face. "Let's go, slowpoke. We've been spotted."

I glance up to see what she's talking about and then squint at the familiar man glowering from the porch. "Is that Razor Montgomery?"

"Nope," Charlie says, popping her door open. "That's his twin brother, Ryker."

Well, son of a bitch. Pieces begin to click together in my mind, and I feel like a jackass for not connecting the dots earlier. When Dillon brought up Razor, he meant Razor Montgomery, former guitarist from Bent. He retired to Silver Spoon Falls, and so did his twin brother, Ryker. Charlie wasn't kidding about going to see a former CIA agent because Ryker worked for the CIA until recently.

I have no fucking clue how she knows them, but I intend to find out. Especially if she feels comfortable enough coming to him for help with whatever is going on.

I climb out of her car, cursing when I ram my knee into the dashboard in the process. We should have brought the truck. I'd have legroom, and we might actually survive the day. Our odds of survival with her driving land somewhere between Jesus, take the wheel, and God help us all.

By the time I fight my way free of her car, she's already halfway up the driveway, her hips swaying in her tight jeans. I stare at her ass, growling. Jesus. I just want to sink my teeth into it.

Ryker notices me watching her ass. When I glance up, he's staring me down exactly like someone trained by the government. Unfortunately for him, I spend most of my time surrounded by powerful women. And if there's one thing I've learned, it's that nothing in this world intimidates a powerful woman. I'm man enough to admit I've learned from the best. I scowl at him and then hurry to catch up with Charlie.

I expect her to read me the riot act when I link our fingers together, silently staking a claim on her, but she clings like she's nervous. I'm beginning to suspect that my poor little kitten is blustering her way through this entire operation. Actually, I'm pretty convinced that's exactly what she's doing. None of this reeks of a well-thought-out plan. She's following her heart and hoping for the best.

"Hey, Charlie," Ryker says, smiling at her. His hard gaze shifts to me. "Xavier."

"Ryker."

"You two know each other?" Charlie gapes between us.

"Nah, but he looks just like his brother," Ryker says.

"Ditto."

"You're both twins," Charlie mumbles. "Whoa. Um…is it weird?"

"Being a twin?"

"Meeting another twin."

"Not particularly." Ryker shrugs. "I've already met his brother."

"Oh, yeah. I forgot about that." Charlie blushes and then looks down at her feet for a moment. "I need spy help," she blurts. "And you can't tell anyone that you've seen me, not even if they try to torture it out of you."

Ryker right brow rises. "Who, exactly, do you expect to come looking for you, sweetheart?"
