“My makeup would be great. It’s in a pink makeup case in the linen closet in the bathroom.” She hesitated for a moment before saying, “I’d love my blue fuzzy slippers. If… If grabbing them isn’t too much trouble. There’s a suitcase in the hall closet, if that would help.”
“Did you get that, Street?” Vex listened and said, “I owe you one. I’ll text you the location.” He disconnected and handed her his phone. “He’ll need your address, Baby girl.”
Almost quivering with excitement at the thought of holding Sammie, Angel typed in her address and apartment number. She added TY before sending the message. A second later, she added, “Be careful.”
“He’s going to take a truck from the warehouse. If the Ravagers want revenge, they’ll look for bikers. Street will go with backup. He’ll be fine.”
She was torn between wanting him to be safe and concerned about having guys handling her things. Surely, they wouldn’t snoop through her stuff, other than searching for clothes. Granted, they’d have to go through her drawers and closet to get her things.
Vex chose Street. He trusted him. She would have to do the same. Returning the phone to Vex, she wrapped her arms around herself. Think about holding Sammie.
After putting his phone in his pocket, Vex hugged her close to his side. “What would you change in your nursery?”
“I love the decorations.” Angel scanned the room. This time she noticed the furniture. In the books she’d read, Daddies had cribs and other pieces sized for adults. She walked toward the beautiful railed bed and ran her fingers over the smooth, light brown wood. The piece of furniture matched the room perfectly, resembling driftwood. Instantly, she was curious.
“Would you like to climb in and see what the mattress feels like?” Vex suggested.
Nodding eagerly, Angel let him lift her onto the soft comforter. She smoothed her hands over the soft bedding before stretching out and looking up at the ceiling. “Vex! You even painted the sky!”
“I’d love for you to call me Daddy, Baby girl.”
“Daddy?” Her heart leapt at the sound coming from her own lips.
“Yes? Do you like the birds?”
“And the butterflies. That’s so pretty. I could lie here and pretend I’m floating on a raft in the water.”
A desire to see what else she’d missed made her scoot to the edge. Peering over the side, Angel noted that the carpet looked far below her. “Can you help me down?”
“Always.” Vex lifted her easily to stand on the floor. He patted her on the bottom as he smoothed out her T-shirt.
“Thanks… Daddy.”
His expression made her dart forward to throw her arms around his neck, and she pulled his lips down to hers. Their kiss was explosive. The heat ignited between them instantly. Vex wrapped his arms around Angel, pulling her tight against him. Taking control of the kiss, he sensuously explored her mouth, making her body hum with excitement as she clung to him.
When he lifted his lips from hers, Angel stared at him in shock. She’d never expected that a kiss could make her feel so much. Vex was incredibly different from any man she’d ever met. With him, she felt sexy and cherished. And inside? Her desire skyrocketed way above her reaction to past boyfriends and Trevor.
“I think I enjoy calling you Daddy,” she whispered.
“Good girl. I know I like it. Let’s select something to read and rock for a while. It’s almost when you need to go to sleep.”
“I have a bedtime?”
“Of course. All Little girls have a bedtime,” Vex said with a smile as he walked her over to the bookshelf to choose a book.
After several minutes, he lifted her onto his hard thighs. She melted against his chest, feeling cherished and protected by the powerful arms wrapped around her. The story made her squirm at points from the intimate scenes in the age-play book.
After a couple of chapters, she battled to keep her eyes open. Warm and comfortable, Angel let Vex’s deep voice flow over her.
“I’m going to put you to bed, Little girl.”
“Okay, Daddy.”
Chapter 5
“No! No! Stop!”
Angel’s shouts woke Vex from his light sleep. After he’d tucked her in her borrowed T-shirt back into his bed, bad dreams had tormented her throughout the night. Even his presence wrapped around Angel hadn’t kept the nightmares away. Each time, he spoke softly to pull Angel from her nightmares. “Baby girl. You’re here with me. Can you wake up for Daddy?”
“Make them stop, Daddy!” she cried out, thrashing with her eyes firmly closed. Her voice sounded so hopeless, as if no one would come to her rescue.
His heart lurched at the despair in her tone. After dodging a flailing arm, Vex talked to her again. “Angel. Open those pretty green eyes right now. You are safe. I’ve got you.”
“Daddy?” Angel sat up quickly and scanned the room, peering through the darkness as if she didn’t trust her own eyes.
