I’m like… a professor.

Which is weird, but not in a bad way.

Especially since college campuses are a hot bed of exhibitionism. And the students are very serious about making it hard for the voyeurs to find them. It’s like a challenge, I think.

It’s fun. I like the atmosphere.

Though, as a respected member of the faculty, I don’t partake in the game.

Shortly after I settled in to collegiate life, Quaid had me make an introduction to my colleagues in the Tech College. He works there, trying to replicate the glasses Apollo made for him even though he doesn’t need them anymore. His organic eyes do everything they did, and more.

Declan, not wanting to be left out, forged his own path ahead by approaching the portal masters. He is the son of Hermes, after all. I’m not sure what he’s working on over there, but he seems happy with it.

And little Star?

She’s the happiest of us all.

EPILOGUE - STAR

In the weeks and months following our trip into paradise, the men and I have settled in to a mutually valuable multi-partner relationship. Being with them in this way is like a dream. It really is my own personal Paradise.

At first, when Nyx showed up, I was convinced that it was all a trick. That she just wanted our godly gifts for herself and somehow, some way, we’d all end up the losers.

But I was wrong. Not just a little wrong, either. But next level wrong. Because while we did all have to give up our gifts—and for Declan, this meant giving up a body part—we all got a gift back.

Just like Nyx said we would.

That’s really why we settled in to Paradise so quickly.

It was Aric’s golden armor that drew the attention of the War College. I still can’t believe that our Aric is a professor. But it suits him. And while he thinks that Declan, Quaid, and I don’t know that he secretly spies on us when we’re all together, we do. Maybe one day he’ll join us, but probably not. And that’s OK too. I will take Aric any way he lets me. He’s still the one who makes me feel the safest. Like he would be there, standing between me and any enemy, and no matter what, I would know that I would be OK when the battle was over.

And it was Quaid’s golden eyes that got him the meeting with the tech college after Aric made an introduction. Although, I don’t share any powers with Quaid anymore, he’s told me that his new eyes give him even more information than his Apollo sunglasses. He tells me that the stars above him are a code, just like the stars in the Labyrinth. And this code is the meaning of life itself. And these new eyes of his will be able to solve the mystery of everything one day. With Quaid by my side, I always feel in control. Because he’s always in control. It’s very stabilizing.

Declan’s new wings give a whole new meaning to the word ‘loved’. They are magnificent, and gold, and fluffy, and massive, and he uses them to hug me tight when we’re spooning in bed. When he’s not in bed with me, those wings take him places. All over Paradise, even places the Titans, who have been here for thousands of years, don’t know about. Declan shows his devotion to me by sheltering me in his wings and telling me stories about his travels. When we’re together, I feel as if we’re a part of history now. A god and his goddess in the making. And one day they will tell tales about us and we will be written in the stars forever.

And even though I gave myself to Nyx when I left the mortal realm, it was a fair trade. Because it was an impossible trade. Pleiades Eight is not a god’s gift. It’s just… me.

Yes, I gave her my inner light, the star inside me, so to speak—but that light is nothing without the woman it belongs to. It’s just a spark. A potential for something not yet realized.

I know this for sure because the starry crown on my head floats above me like a brand-new night sky filled with all new constellations—a universe that paints a picture of all of us.

We are the future.

Because we have been written in the stars.

A Warrior.

A Seeker

A Traveler.

A Queen.
