I just hoped…Kit wouldn’t venture too far outside our triad.

Luke gave me a warm, lazy little smile and a quick kiss.

While I was at it, I offered a recap of my run with Greer and what we’d discussed. From various scenarios to personal limits. I had no problems with Luke playing with others as long as I was present, be it a Little or a Top. For myself, I didn’t wanna be too intimate with a Little. If we were to play with Greer’s crowd, I was more likely to see if I could make Sloan bend over, something that made Luke chuckle as he kissed my jaw.

That was a fictive example, though. Sloan stuck to Archie and Corey, which was fine. We hadn’t decided anything yet.

As for Kit…

“Are you listenin’ to me?” I had to ask. ’Cause he wouldn’t stop smooching my face.

“Of course I am.” He cupped my cheek and kissed the other. “Some of us can multitask. I can listen to you, kiss you, and fantasize about you prancing around naked in Florida at the same time.”

I snorted. I didn’t fucking prance. But yeah, considering Ty’s house was in the Ten Thousand Islands south of Naples, we’d been promised secluded mangrove islands where clothes were optional. Luke was really looking forward to a vacation in the sun. He’d started packing and everything.

“You were going to say something about Kit,” he said.

Right.

I cleared my throat and tried to focus, even as his hand landed on my crotch. “I’m gonna push for us to be able to vet whoever he wants to play with. As his Owners, I think that’s our right. He’s still new, and his eyes are bigger than his stomach at times.”

“Agreed.” He grazed his teeth along the shell of my ear, causing me to shudder. “I don’t think he’s particularly interested in playing with Tops, just so you know. Corey and Kit spent an hour downstairs discussing who the best kisser among the subs might be. They both put their money on Macklin because he has—and I quote—so much experience, and he’s like the hot big brother you dream about.”

“Jesus,” I exhaled in a laugh. “We’ll tell Mack tomorrow. He loves to make boys blush.”

If Kit mostly wanted to explore with Littles, I’d be able to relax fully. And if he didn’t…if he wanted to play with other Daddies—well, I’d cross that bridge then. I didn’t wanna think about it.

That night after dinner, I wanted to enjoy myself the way Kit and Luke were clearly doing. Well, after some minor drama with the most stubborn housekeeper I’d ever met.

She’d been downstairs all day, and she’d been offended when we had wanted to pay her extra for her work. My fucking God, the woman had a colorful vocabulary. I didn’t need to know Spanish to understand I was now her enemy. And the gestures… But according to her, this party, all the cooking, was her way to thank us for making her retirement bearable. Her words, not mine. But the joke was on her, because we’d just give her more money for groceries to use when volunteering at her church. She may be headstrong, but I wasn’t born yesterday, and I had a Kit with puppy-dog eyes. I wasn’t afraid to use him.

After she’d gone home, however… Smooth sailing. We’d had dinner. We’d finished everything we had on our lists for the day. So now, Kit and Luke were bringing cupcakes and coffee—cocoa for the boy—into the living room to watch another Christmas movie.

I had this rock in the pit of my gut that wouldn’t dissolve, but I went through the motions anyway.

“Did you read Cam’s latest journal entry, dear?” Luke asked. “His and Lucian’s journey is so beautiful.”

Kit snickered and sat down on the couch. “I kinda liked Noa’s entry more. I howled, Daddy.”

My mouth twitched. Of course he preferred Noa’s entry. Cam wrote in great detail about servitude and how his slave training impacted him, and Noa did…not. Sometimes the boy got good-naturedly jealous of the attention Cam’s entries received online, so Noa was now spitting out journal entries every day.

Today’s entry read, “Just had an excellent poop!”

I joined Luke and Kit with my own coffee and a better snack and sat down in the corner of the sectional. The very spot I’d held Kit for the first time. It was mine. This was where I napped, where I watched the news, and where I could look out over the rest of the living room and dining room.

“Is that the thing from Alaska, Daddy?” Kit asked. “From your Air Force buddy?”

“Well, his brother. He’s a helicopter pilot with the Coast Guard up there. And every year, he sends jerky to Andy, who ships some of it to me.” I unwrapped the piece of jerky, then placed it on the little cutting board I’d brought. Caribou jerky straight from Alaska beat overpriced cupcakes any day of the week. “You’ll meet Andy at Miramar next year,” I said. Miramar would be the first air show I attended with Kit, and I knew exactly what I was looking forward to the most. Just seeing his reactions to the displays.
