I don’t have to ask him twice. Bender takes my hand and leads me to the private elevator.

At the arena, a slimy man meets us at the private entrance. “Hello, Mr. Valentine. My name is Doug, and I’m here to escort you to the suite.”

Bender nods his head and takes my hand. Several pairs of eyes turn toward us as we walk through the back tunnel, but no one tries to speak to us.

Growing up with celebrity parents, I’m used to the way stars are treated, but it still feels funny to plain old me.

We stop at double wooden doors, and Doug opens them to reveal a huge suite that opens up onto the ice rink. “Wow.” I gasp as I look around the two-story suite. “We have this whole suite? I don’t think we need all this to ourselves.”

“We need our privacy.” He wiggles his eyebrows, and my lady bits wake up. Bender turns to the man standing silently by the door and reaches into his pocket. After handing the money to Doug, he points at the door. “We’ll let you know if we need anything.”

“Just press any of the buttons scattered throughout the suite and someone will come right away,” Doug tells us before backing out the door.

As we sit on the black leather sofa in the suite and look out the window, I realize I haven’t noticed a second of the action going on down on the ice rink. Not with Bender running his fingers up and down my side. Each time his thumb comes close to my boob, I shiver, waiting for him to freaking touch me already.

“Are you trying to torture me?” I finally grumble when I hit my limit of him almost but not quite touching where I need him to.

“Do you want me to stop?” He smirks down at me, and I shake my head.

His foot bouncing nonstop tells me he’s wound up despite his best efforts to appear relaxed. “Is something wrong?”

Bender’s breath catches in his throat a moment before he drops to his knees in front of me. When he lifts my hand to his lips, I melt under the heat coming from his dark brown eyes. “Yes.” He wraps his hands around my face and pulls me close. “I need to make you mine.”

Huh? He already did that. “I’m already yours.”

“You don’t have my name.” My eyes almost pop out of my head when he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a ring box. “But we can fix the situation if you agree to marry me.”

I kiss him hard before jumping up to screech. “Yes!” It’s a dream come true. Bender sits back on his heels and laughs as I make a fool of myself doing my happy dance.

“You just promised the entire arena and television audience that you’re marrying me.” He points out the window, and I realize a video of us is on the huge display hanging over the middle of the rink. Oof. Thousands of people just watched me do my happy dance.

“Good.” I smile up at Bender after he stands and pulls me close. “I want all the other women in the world to know you’re all mine.”

“You’re the only woman who matters to me.” He runs his hand through my hair and grips the back of my head before leaning down and kissing me. I mean, really kissing me. No one who sees this kiss will ever doubt the way we feel about each other.

Chapter Twelve

Bender

After my angel agrees to marry me, I jump into action. Louis is begging me to keep him busy so I give him a list of instructions. He’s arranging to have my girl’s belongings moved to my house in Silver Spoon Falls.

Over the next two weeks, planning London’s move keeps me busy while my angel works her butt off getting ready to work long distance.

Today is London’s last day in the office, and tomorrow, we’re leaving to fly back to Texas. I spend the day packing up a few things and making calls.

When my phone rings, I almost ignore it, but a little voice in the back of my mind tells me to answer. “Hello.”

“Why haven’t you been answering the goddamn phone?” Cash roars. “And why the fuck aren’t you protecting my sister?”

My heart stops then resumes beating double-time as I pull the phone away from my face and see seven missed calls. Fuck. “What the fuck are you talking about?” My tight grip nearly crushes my useless goddamn cellphone. The fucker is set to screen calls and automatically rejects unknown numbers. Shit.

“I just got a call from Wild Templeton that the girls are being held hostage at the office,” Cash snarls.

“What the fuck?” I grab my wallet and rush out of the apartment without bothering to lock the door.
