The pattern her hips follow becomes smaller and more defined as she finds her sweet spot. Her cries become shorter, more urgent. Ah, hell. She's going to come all over me.

"Kiss me, pretty baby," I demand, chasing her lips with mine. "I want to taste you while you're creaming all over me."

She whines my name, pressing her lips to mine.

"Come," I growl, giving her permission to let go. She needs it, I know she does.

Her sharp cry of relief rips through me, setting me on fire for her. Cum shoots up my shaft, spilling into my boxers as she rocks against my erection a final time and then unravels in my arms. She shakes as she comes, clinging to my shoulders and moaning my name in a way that I'll be hearing in my dreams for the rest of my damn life.

I've never been a religious man, but I think heaven is real. I just found it in a teal room with a goddess in my arms. It'll take every angel on the payroll to cast me out now. This little bookworm is mine, and I'm keeping her.

"Finn," she whispers, slumping against my chest.

Her heart pounds against my sternum, the most real thing I've ever felt.

I bury my face in her hair and take a deep breath.

"That wasn't kissing," she says after a moment.

"It was kissing with benefits."

She laughs quietly, her body shaking against mine. And then she pulls back to look at me, her face flushed, her hazel eyes dilated. Damn, she's beautiful. "I like benefits," she whispers sweetly.

"Me too." I kiss the tip of her nose and then reluctantly slide her down my body. I don't let her go though, not yet. Instead, I hold her for a minute, cuddling her close. "Since I fully intend on keeping you, we're going to be exploring a lot of benefits, Scarlett. A lot of benefits."

"Do I get a say?" she asks, one brow arched.

"Pretty baby, you have all the power here." I cup her cheek, rubbing my thumb across her bottom lip. "In case you haven't noticed, I'm kind of obsessed with you." This makes her smile. "Your word is law. Unless your word is no. Then you'll just have to pick a different word because that one won't work for me."

"Consent matters, super-spy Finn Taylor."

"I'll never force you to do anything you don't want to do. But I won't let you run from me either, pretty baby. We're happening. So you're just going to have to get on board with that, Scarlett Crawford from Gatsby Books."

"Fine," she huffs, making me smile. "But if Aunt Ophelia gets you tossed in jail, I'm not bailing you out."

Chapter Five

Scarlett

"Hey, what–?"

Finn grabs my arm in a gentle vise, sending me toppling into his chest between two shelves in the nonfiction section. His mouth slashes down over mine, silencing my question before I can even voice it.

I groan, wrapping myself around him like his own personal security blanket as heat flashes to steam in my veins and desire ignites with a whoosh of sound. He licks into my mouth, his free hand roaming across my ass as if we're the only two in the store. His touch is possessive and sure, as if he knows I belong to him and doesn't care who sees us like this.

His confidence is sexy as hell to me. So is the way he rumbles when he kisses me. And the way he attacks my mouth like he can't stop himself. There's nothing gentle about Finn when he kisses me. He's sweet as pie until he gets his hands on me, and then he turns into a beast, just like he did last night. I love it so much.

This man is a mess of beautiful contradictions, and every single one makes me fall a little harder. He's soft yet hard, gentle but fierce. He's a card-carrying member of Mensa, yet he looks like he just stepped off the pages of a magazine. He's charming but awkward, endearing but bossy. It's as if the universe sprinkled all my weaknesses into this man just to tempt me.

And oh, my goodness! I've never been more tempted.

Without even trying, he's stolen my heart. Not fragments of it or small pieces but the whole darn thing. I don't even know when it happened or how. He snuck in like a freaking ninja! One minute, my heart belonged to no one. The next, his name lit up every corner of space. He probably planned it. He is a super-spy.

"Jesus, this perfect mouth," he growls against my lips.

"Stop kissing it."

"Hell no." He kisses me again.

"You can't kiss me at work."

"Oh, yeah?"

My toes curl when he kisses me this time. I'm pretty sure steam curls from the ends of my hair. My knees definitely go weak. I know this because by the time he lets me up for air, I'm wedged between the bookshelf and his body, and those two things are all that's keeping me upright. Well, those two things and the fact that I'm clinging to his shoulders like he's a buoy and I'm in shark-infested waters.
