“I’m always curious, Tobias.”

He stopped moving, and I turned to take in the sculpted planes of his face, to drink in the heat of his breath tinged with the scent of Champagne.

This was unchartered ground for me, and not unwelcome. But Tobias Benton was nothing, if not intimidating.

“Good.” He grabbed my belt and yanked my hips to his. “Because I was thinking of what it would be like to take your virginal ass when I came in the shower.”

My mind teetered along the edge of curiosity’s cliff. I’d always dominated women, and I had always assumed if I ever fucked a guy, I’d be the one doing the fucking… Yet the thought of being dominated by this man excited me. “You assume I’d let you have my ass?”

“Yes.”

He was right. I would let him.

“There is something dark and sordid about you that calls to every depraved whim I have,” he said, sliding my belt through the buckle. “And I know when I eventually fuck you, I’ll come in your ass with the hardest orgasm I’ll ever experience.”

My attention dropped to his lips. I craved violence and savagery, and I imagined Tobias would be brutal.

Without warning, he cupped my dick through my pants. “Despite how willing it seems you are, and despite how much I’d enjoy taking you right here, we’re going to be late if we don’t leave.”

And with that, he took my hand and led me to the elevator.

Tobias

It was nearing midnight by the time the chauffeur parked behind the government building.

The lot was empty aside from the Honda of the attendant I’d paid off to be indisposed during our visit.

“We won’t be long,” I told the driver as I stepped into the warm evening air and motioned Preston out.

He straightened, lifting a brow as he glanced at the building. “Not quite what I had in mind when I took you up on that invitation.”

“I hope you enjoy surprises.” I fought the sadistic smile threatening my lips as I headed toward the back entrance.

I couldn’t wait to see Preston’s reaction. Would it be one of shock or anger? I hoped not remorse, because that would be a rapid end to this test. There was no room for guilt in this game.

The lock clicked when I swiped the government badge the guard provided me over the scanner. The door swung open into a sterile-looking hallway.

Preston frowned as I motioned him inside. If only I could be privy to the thoughts swirling through his head.

“It’s just down this way,” I said, and he followed me through the maze of hallways without question.

When I stopped outside the coroner’s office he took a step back, his gaze locked on the sign above the doorway. “Look, I’m open minded, but if you’re into dead bodies… I’m out.”

“Oh, I see. You’re only into them as they die, then?” I said, opening the door and flipping the light switch.

“What?” The warming flicker of the fluorescent lights danced over his pretty face. I delighted at the way the color drained from his cheeks as he stood clinging to the doorframe.

“I think you know what I’m talking about, dear, sweet Preston.” Smiling, I proceeded to the row of stainless-steel cabinets, grabbed the handle to number three, and pulled it open with a clank of the rollers.

Leah’s dirt-covered, decaying body lay perfectly still on the metal table, and Preston’s horror-filled gaze was right on it.

He rushed to the sink at the side of the room and threw up. As much as part of me wanted to view it as weakness, maybe it was a bit much to stomach.

“What’s the matter, Preston? Not so fond of her now?” I crossed the room and latched onto his shoulders, then spun him around to face her body. “Look at what you did.”

“What the fuck?” he whispered, closing his eyes as he swiped a hand over his mouth. “You… She’s dead?”

And what a good little sociopathic actor Preston was. He almost sounded shocked. “Preston,” I tsked. “Don’t take me for a fool. I know you killed her. I know how hard you came as she drew her last breath.” I stood between him and the table, trailing a finger over Leah’s cold, rigid arm. “And you haven’t quite found a release that good since, have you?”

There was a moment—a fleeting moment where he looked uncertain, but he quickly masked it with a heavy frown. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. Leah’s been missing for a week.” His gaze drifted to her corpse, but his steadfast expression never wavered. “I wasn’t aware she’d been… found.”

He would deny it as long as I would let him. Most people would. But my patience was wearing thin and my dick ached for his lips around it.

“Stop fighting, Leah,” I repeated the words he said to her that night as I stepped toward him. “You know if you pass out, I’ll only come harder… and then you did. You came hard in her dying pussy, and then you buried her in the woods.”
