“You….” Abe swallowed hard and tipped his head back so he could look at Jason’s rugged face. “You said I was hot.”

“Mmm. That too.” Jason tugged Abe’s briefs and jeans up over his hips but left them unfastened. “Let’s go,” he said as he righted his own pants. He grasped Abe’s hand and pulled him across the apartment.

When they reached the bedroom, they both quickly stripped and climbed onto the bed.

“Is your stuff in the nightstand? Once we get started, I don’t want to stop again,” Jason said. At first Abe didn’t understand the question, but then Jason explained. “Condoms? Lube? Are they in the nightstand?”

“Oh.” Abe blinked. “Lube, yes, but I don’t have any condoms.”

He used the lube to get himself off, but his last relationship had ended three apartments and close to three years earlier, and he hadn’t had a reason to buy rubbers since. After all, he wasn’t the type to jump right into bed with someone he was newly dating. Although he apparently had no compunction about jumping into bed with someone he wasn’t dating. The realization made him laugh.

In middle of stretching toward the nightstand, Jason stopped, gazed at Abe, and said, “You have a great laugh.”

Hearing Jason compliment his body wasn’t a surprise, because from the beginning the sole purpose of their time together had been a mutual desire to explore each other physically. But a compliment about his laugh was something else entirely; it had nothing to do with getting off.

“I, uh….” Abe lowered his gaze and then raised it and chewed on his bottom lip. “Yeah?”

Jason nodded and cupped his cheek. “It was the first thing I noticed about you.”

Having always wanted to live a white-picket-fence life with a forever guy meant Abe had a tendency to think about the potential future when other guys were still thinking about whether they wanted to go on a first date. But from the beginning, he had known there would be no future with Jason, so his mind hadn’t wandered to fantasies that weren’t of the naked-and-sticky variety. That worked fine when all Jason offered was physical affection. But sweet comments and gentle touches were a surefire way to involve Abe’s heart, and he wasn’t sure how he felt about that. Letting go of his self-imposed bedroom limits didn’t impact anything except his orgasm count and his ability to tell himself he’d never had meaningless sex. Getting emotionally involved with a man who had made clear the limitations of his interest to the point where he didn’t share even the most basic information, like his last name, had the very real potential of devastating Abe.

“I think I have a condom in my wallet,” Jason said, continuing their earlier conversation.

The reminder that Abe was in bed with a man who had casual sex frequently enough to carry a stash of supplies got the interaction back on familiar ground, which was comforting, if a bit disappointing. Abe had enjoyed the focused expression on Jason’s face when they chatted, the warmth of Jason’s skin as he held his hand, and the softness in Jason’s caress. Receiving that tenderness from the same man who turned him on by handling him aggressively and using his body shamelessly was a melding of the qualities Abe openly admitted he wanted in a partner and those he pulled out of hiding only as masturbatory material.

“Be right back.” Jason nipped Abe’s ear, hopped off the bed, and returned seconds later with a condom packet.

He set it on the pillow before reaching for the nightstand again. Because he was straddling Abe’s leg, the motion caused his erection to drag across Abe’s hip, which returned Abe’s attention to what they were about to do.

“Was that a horny moan or an I’m-squishing-you sound?” Jason asked as he set Abe’s tube of K-Y next to the condom. He settled himself between Abe’s legs and massaged his thighs, pushing hard against the muscles and dragging his hands up until he brushed Abe’s balls with his thumbs.

“Not squishing me,” Abe said breathlessly as he spread his legs farther apart.

“Good.” Jason continued his firm massage as he lowered his face and blew hot air across Abe’s testicles. “You have great nuts.” He lapped at Abe’s sac. “I love how they hang.” He took one testicle into his mouth and suckled. “You’re so soft,” he mumbled as he released one and then sucked on the other.

“Oh God,” Abe groaned. He quickly reached between his legs and buried his fingers in Jason’s hair. “Don’t stop. Please, I…. Don’t stop.”

Though Jason didn’t verbally respond, he sucked harder, decreased the pressure, licked, and then sucked voraciously again.

Abe threw his head back and closed his eyes, lost in a haze of pleasure. When Jason circled his pucker with slick fingers, his breath hitched. Unable to move or speak, he stayed perfectly still, waiting for what he knew was coming next. It didn’t take long for Jason to slowly push one digit into his hole, and Abe cried out, the sound a mixture between a moan and a wail.
