My stomach tightens when I see the glint of his curved blade, and then he moves quickly and precisely. He jabs four quick movements into Levi’s side, just below the ribs, aiming upward, before anyone can react. Z grips Levi with an arm around his shoulders. Levi’s eyes widen in shock, and blood sputters from his lips. Then Z slices him from hip to hip, opening him up and spilling his intestines into Adam’s lap with a sickening slosh. Blood splashes up Adam’s face and onto the table. Levi’s hands reach to contain his insides, his knees buckling.

The other man jumps up, and stumbles backwards, fumbling for a gun on his hip. Viktor moves like a shadow, disarming him, and smashing him into the table, his arm locked up his back with a grunt.

Blood covers Adam’s entire body, crimson spray paints his face, and pieces of Levi sit in his lap.

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

“I prefer a bloodier approach.” Z drops Levi’s body with a disregarded shove and bears down on Adam, holding the bloodied blade to Adam’s throat.

Holding his hands up in surrender, Adam frantically starts babbling. “People know where I am. I wouldn’t come here without assurances.” His chest rises and falls rapidly, sweat beading on his brow and upper lip. “There’s more of my men outside if I don’t walk out of here.”

Laughing, Rodion says, “We’re aware of the two men in the Range Rover outside, Adam, and don’t be naïve. If we were going to kill you, we wouldn’t invite you to your slaying. We’d slip from beneath your bed like a nightmare, and soak your sheets crimson.”

I almost feel sorry for the idiot…almost.

Hissing through his teeth, when Z slices a tiny nick into his skin, he says, “I get it. Message heard loud and clear.” His eyes bounce to each of us.

“Good. I’m glad we could discuss this like civilized businessmen.” Andru gets to his feet and offers a hand for Adam to shake.

Adam watches the hand warily before taking it.

“I’m going to keep this one,” Viktor announces, jerking the man he has bent over the table. “I have some soundproofing to test.”

“No, please Adam, don’t leave me with him,” the man cries out.

Oh God.

“Alyona, shall we?” Rodion stands and takes my hand helping me to my feet. “Do you fancy getting some lunch?” he asks like we didn’t just witness Levi’s brutal death. I don’t think I’ll eat for a week.

“Burgers!” Z interjects taking up the other side of me, using a cloth to clean his knife.

They really are madmen. My madmen.

Chapter Forty

Zahkar

People, too many of them, wrap around the side of the building with hopes of getting inside. We are at capacity, and we couldn’t have asked for a better opening night.

Drinks flow and the music pulses through the walls like they’re breathing sound.

“It looks amazing in here,” Alyona says, swaying her hips to the beat of the music, drawing my gaze to her perfect ass filling out the skimpy black fabric of her dress.

“I feel a little mom guilt leaving Roza again so soon though,” she says, playing with a purple cocktail stick in her drink.

“You’ve spent every second with her today. She’s sleeping and Mrs. Potts is staying in her room in case she wakes, which we all know she won’t. Relax, enjoy yourself. You’ve earned it.” I inhale the sweet scent of her perfume and kiss along her jaw.

I sense Rodion before I feel him sling an arm over my shoulder. “Fight is about to start, brother.”

I live for fights and the atmosphere they create. There is nothing better than the sounds of the crowd as fists connect with flesh, sweat coating the body as they move with skill and intention.

We designed the lower level to resemble a compact arena, creating an intimate yet energetic atmosphere. At the center, the Octagon serves as the main stage. Surrounding it, ample standing areas allow the audience to engage with the action, while still feeling like they’re in a nightclub. Beyond that on raised platforms, we have private sections. Each of these areas comes equipped with its own dance floors and lounge seats, complete with your own waitress. Additionally, a bar wraps around the entire back wall, ensuring that all sections have easy and fast access to drinks.

The DJ announces the fighters, each having their own intro music, and I pull Alyona and Rodion to our private area to watch from.

“Is that Roman?” Alyona asks, eyes widening.

“It is. He earned himself a spot on the lineup.” Rodion braces her hips with his hands, smothering her back with his front. “Do you want me to fuck you while you watch, love?”

My dick thickens with his words, and I sweep my gaze around the crowd, making sure we’re secluded from prying eyes. This is the exact reason we built the areas this way to offer privacy for those who like to indulge in pleasure with their violence.
