She didn’t have her phone?
“As soon as we find her, we’re putting a tracker on her,” Alexei said. “I don’t care what she says.”
“Here it is. Oh, fuck.”
Alexei froze as Roman swore. It had to be bad if Roman was saying fuck. But he forced himself to move to the computer screen.
Salem started swearing as well. Then he grabbed his phone and left the room.
Alexei didn’t realize what he was looking at for a long moment.
Then it hit him.
They now knew that she hadn’t left on her own. Nope, something much worse had happened.
She’d been drugged and kidnapped.
By Mark fucking Roberts!
“I’m going to kill the fucking bastard!”
Tamsyn woke up slowly.
Pain engulfed her body and she couldn’t figure out where she was. She opened her eyes.
Darkness.
Fear engulfed her.
No, no, no.
She couldn’t be. This was a nightmare. She couldn’t be back here.
Just a dream. Just a dream.
Closing her eyes, she breathed in deep.
In. Out. Calm.
Just imagine that you have Sir’s blindfold on. He’s here, guiding you. You’re safe in his care.
Tamsyn opened her eyes and the darkness hit her again. She had to work hard to control her panicked breaths as she reached out. Her hand met a wall about five inches in front of her face.
The hole.
She was in the hole.
Which meant one thing. He had her again.
And he wasn’t happy with her. She got put in the hole when she’d done something wrong. And she knew what that something was.
She’d betrayed him. She’d fallen in love with his enemies and tried her best to keep up the pretense of spying on them.
Somehow, he’d found out and put her back in here.
Tamsyn tried to keep her heart from racing, her stomach from rebelling. But it was difficult. He knew she hated it down here.
In the dark.
Alone with her thoughts.
No way to free herself.
How had this happened? Her mind raced.
Mark Roberts.
Oh God. Mark Roberts belonged to him. Mark Roberts worked for MI6. This was bad. So bad.
Did the guys know she was missing yet? Would they figure out what had happened to her?
Would they come after her?
Not if they manage to figure out who you are.
Just as she thought she was going to break, the roof above her shifted and his face stared down at her.
She hated that he was good-looking. That he was charming. People flocked to him. He’d fooled everyone for years and they didn’t know the half of what he’d done. Of the reach that he had.
He had his fingers in criminal enterprises all over the world. In the States, South America, Africa, the Middle East. Most of the illegal guns in every country in some way went through him.
His power was immense
But his downfall was his ego, it was his need to own everything and everyone.
He thought he was a God. And that no one could stand in his way or should. And those that did . . . well, he wanted them to pay.
“You’ve been a bad girl, Tamsyn, and now it’s time to pay.”
This was going to be bad.
Really, really bad.
But it would have nothing on the pain of losing her men.
That loss was absolute agony.

“We can’t find any trace of Mark,” Riordan said with frustration. “It’s like he became a ghost. How did he pull this off? And why?”
“He has to be working for Pinky,” Salem said tiredly.
None of them had slept last night. They’d all been searching for Mark Roberts.
That fucking bastard.
When Salem found him, he was a fucking dead man. And that was only if he got to him before Alexei did.
Alexei was on a knife’s edge, close to exploding and Salem wasn’t sure he could calm the other man down.
Roman hadn’t left his computer other than to use the bathroom. His refusal to leave had forced Riordan to come to them.
Which is how the older man had ended up in Roman’s home office.
“I hate to think that someone on our team is a traitor, but it’s looking that way,” Riordan agreed.
Huh. That might have been the first time he and Salem had agreed on something.
“Why do you think he targeted Ms. Clemens, though?” Riordan asked.
“It’s got to be about us,” Salem replied grimly. They had done this. They hadn’t protected her.
He felt ill.
“There’s no other reason,” Salem said. Nothing else made sense. “Pinky wants to use her to get to us.”
“I didn’t think he’d want Mark to break his cover in order to kidnap your girl. Wouldn’t he get more out of Mark remaining with the team?” Riordan asked.
It was a strange move from Pinky.
“Sometimes he acts more from emotion than from using his head,” Alexei said as he walked into the room. “I’ve been tapping into old contacts, hoping someone had heard something and I’ve come up with fucking nothing.” He kicked a chair and it fell over. But none of them said anything.
