“I would apologize, but we both know I wouldn’t mean it,” he tells me as I slide in next to Rose. Her delicate, floral fragrance teases my nose, causing all sorts of problems below my belt. My cock has been hard for the entire flight, and I’m starting to worry that my royal line of succession is in danger.

“This island is gorgeous.” Rose leans over me to stare out the car window at all the trees along the runway decorated with multi-colored Christmas lights. “Milly told me that no one lives here except the caretakers.”

“That’s right,” I confirm. “We’re going to be all alone except for a few servants.”

Chapter 6

Rose

I stare out the villa window, hoping I’m truly awake and this is really happening. Lorenzo showed me to my room and told me to rest a while. Oh, sure, like I’m going to take it easy with my mind spinning a million miles an hour. He’s offering me everything I’ve ever dreamed of. I sit on the edge of the huge silk-covered bed and look around, wondering how I got so lucky.

I turn off my whirling thoughts and head to the massive bathroom to shower and get ready for dinner. Holy cow. This bathroom is bigger than the entire apartment I shared with Milly in Silver Spoon Falls.

When I see the pool-sized sunken tub, I decide to take a bath instead. After pulling up my unruly hair, I slide into the hot water and lean back, letting the warmth soothe me. The steaming hot water does its job, and I lose track of time. When I step out of the bath, I glance at my watch and realize I’m late. Shoot. I was supposed to be downstairs for dinner ten minutes ago.

I wrap a bright blue bath sheet around my body and open the bathroom door. Stepping into the bedroom, I see Lorenzo standing next to the wall of windows and come to a dead stop. “Oops,” slips out of my mouth, alerting him to my presence.

When he spins around and lets his eyes roam over my towel-covered body, I almost melt into a puddle at the look in his brown eyes. I watch his throat move as he swallows. “I was coming to check on you.”

Flames erupt in his eyes as they move over my body from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet. I barely resist the urge to fidget under his gaze. “I’m sorry I’m late. I fell asleep in that awesome tub,” I tell him and watch Lorenzo shake his head and continue staring at me. “I’ll dress really quick and meet you downstairs.”

I watch him run his tanned finger over his bottom lip and feel an unexpected tingle in my girly area. He opens his mouth, then closes it without speaking. My eyes follow him as he walks to the door. “Take your time. There’s no reason to rush.”

Of course, I rush. Ten minutes later, I wander my way through the large villa. This place is huge, and I might need to keep breadcrumbs at hand to help me find my way. I walk by a wall of windows and notice Lorenzo standing on the patio. “So sorry I kept you waiting.”

He spins around and gives me a warm smile that melts my insides. “I told you,” my breathing accelerates when he steps close and reaches for my hand, “it’s our vacation. We have all the time in the world.” His warm lips move over my knuckles, causing all kinds of issues. I’m so overheated, I doubt a swim in the arctic ocean could cool me off.

“Thank you.” I breathe a sigh of relief mixed with disappointment when he releases my hand.

A servant steps out with drinks for us, and I use the interruption to pull myself together. Throughout the meal, we keep the conversation light, but the sexual tension floating between us makes eating nearly impossible. I honestly don’t taste a bite of the delicious grilled shrimp and vegetables.

“The pool is gorgeous,” I tell him while glancing over at the massive kidney-shaped pool. “I’ve never seen a pool with a waterfall before.”

“Would you like to take a swim after dinner?” He stares into my eyes and asks causing my insides to melt into a puddle of goo at the steamy look.

Even though I know it’s a bad idea to get in the water with the two of us barely dressed, I readily agree. “I’d love to go for a swim.” And jump your bones. His eyes pop wide, and I realize I actually spoke my dirty thoughts out loud.

“I look forward to it.” When the King of Belldonnia wiggles his eyebrows playfully, I admit to myself that he won’t have to work hard to win my heart. It’s already his for the taking.
