“Okay,” she agrees as she goes about pulling her phone out and taking a quick photo.

Movement across the park catches my attention, and I shift my gaze, my brows furrowing as I find Sean striding toward the limo, a breathtaking smile pulling at his lips.

What in the sweet baby Jesus is going on here?

My gaze travels over him in a suit, and my mouth starts to water. I love him in his suits. Every morning he leaves to go to court, I have to physically restrain myself to keep from jumping him. But this suit? Mmmmm. This suit is special.

I distantly notice his brothers, Jax, and Tom behind him and my heart starts to race. I have no fucking idea what’s going on. I mean, what the hell? He’s supposed to be on a boys’ weekend riding, not looking like sex on legs in a suit and making my ovaries scream.

Movement from the opposite side of the park catches my eyes, which is when I notice my parents and my closest friends and colleagues. “What the hell is going on?” I ask the girls, but not one of them says a word as they try to hide their secretive smiles and make their way out of the limo.

“Mel,” I warn, needing answers, my hands starting to sweat. “What’s going on?”

She turns back to me with a proud smile and pulls me into her arms, her eyes welling with tears. “You look beautiful,” she says before scooting out of the car.

I follow behind, and by the time I’m safely on the pavement, Sean is right there taking both my hands in his. He looks at me with love in his eyes as the rest of our group heads toward the empty chairs under the lanterns.

“Fuck, you’re breathtaking,” he says as he pulls me in and presses a kiss to my forehead.

“Sean?” I ask, pulling back to peer up into his dark eyes. “What the hell is going on?”

“I’m about to make you my wife,” he tells me with a fierce determination that has my heart lurching in my chest.

I shake my head, my mind thoroughly blown. “But,” I start to protest.

“No buts, Gigi. We’re doing this,” he tells me, squeezing my hands and letting me see the sincerity and raw honesty in his eyes. “I know this is what you want. You want it so bad but you’re scared to talk to me about it because you think it’s too soon or that I don’t want it, too, but I do. I want it all with you.”

“What about Sara?” I murmur as I look up at him through my lashes.

“Sara would be rolling over in her grave if I didn’t take this step with you. She’s always wanted what’s best for me, and that’s you. I love you so much it hurts, and I couldn’t imagine living my life without you. I already know what it feels like to lose someone, and I’ll be damned if I ever let you get away.”

Sean pauses, giving me just a second to wrap my head around this before going on. “I want to give you the world, just like you’ve done for me. So, what do you say, Gigi?” he asks as he gets down on one knee with my hand firmly in his. “Will you do me the greatest honor of becoming my wife?”

Holy shit.

I gape at the man who holds my whole heart as absolute joy pulses through my veins and fills me with elation, tears welling in my eyes and escaping down my cheeks.

I wait barely a second before it becomes too much, and I launch myself at him, my arms flying around him as he stumbles back onto the pavement, holding me tight. “Yes. Yes, of course, I will,” I tell him, my lips crashing down over his as he laughs through our kiss, his grip so damn tight on my body.

Sean eventually gets us back to our feet when his hands fall to mine, squeezing them tight. “Come on,” he tells me. “Let’s go make an honest woman out of you.”

With that, he turns toward our family and friends who all stand congregated around the white chairs with the lanterns sparkling so beautifully above them. “She said yes,” he calls out for them.

Booming cheers and applause echo throughout the park, and I have no doubt that it’s heard right up the street. Then with a beaming smile across my face, I walk with Sean down to our family, ready to start the beginning of the rest of our lives.

EPILOGUE

SEAN

THREE YEARS LATER

My bedroom door is all but kicked down as Georgie comes barging in and throws herself into the center of our bed. “It’s my birthday! It’s my birthday!” she screeches, the excitement overwhelming her. “I’m six now. I’m a big girl.”
