“I figured I’d work out with you tonight instead.” It’s then I realize Luke is in a white tank top, black athletic shorts hitting him at mid-thigh, a pair of sneakers, and is showing off his muscles and tattoos. I’d better get him inside before others start drooling over the man who’s mine and only mine.

“Are you sure? It can be kind of intense.” His hand falls to my waist, his fingers pressing in at the top of my ass. He walks us in, looking behind him to watch the door close and twisting the lock back into place.

“Been watching you stretch all over the apartment for weeks. Not like you normally would since you’ve been healing. I see what all it entails. Also love having my eyes on you the whole time. Now, I want to see my baby girl do her thing, unrestrained.” I have a distinct feeling there will be way more happening than stretching.

“Well, you’re in for a treat. I was about to start anyway.” This time, it’s me dragging him through the studio. I stop to scoop up my phone to look for a play list. I’d usually choose a calming style, but since Luke’s here, I can go for something more sensual. A few swipes across the screen, and the heavy beat thrums through the speakers.

“Fuck me,” Luke groans. There are three rooms in the studio. Since our schedule is more structured, all of us have our own areas. It’s also easier considering I need yoga mats and Lyric needs Styrofoam wedges, mats, and obstacle type courses for the kids. Then there’s Coralynn’s style; she needs a wide-open dance floor with nothing except lights, mirrors, and music. The louder the better in her eyes. We also make sure her classes don’t coincide with others. Staggering works best and makes our lives easier.

“That can be arranged,” I toss over my shoulder as he follows me. I can feel his eyes drag down the length of my body with every step we take. Once we’re where we need to be, I kick off my flip flops and take my shirt off, leaving me in my sports bra and bottoms.

“Pencil me the fuck in.” The mirrors give me the perfect view of him. He toes off his sneakers and bends down to take off his socks as I move to the area where I store my supplies.

“It’s a good thing I know the instructor.” I grab two mats, lay them on the floor next to each other, and watch as Luke strips out of his shirt. He’s going to make keeping my train of thought impossible when we get to our stretches.

“Damn right.” The music changes to a sultry song. It’s now or never.

“We’re going to start off with some easy poses first, then we’ll work our way up.” I stand on the yoga mat. Luke does the same, his focus on me through the reflection on the mirrored walls.

“Lead the way, and I’ll follow.” He shoots me a wink, and we start with the child’s pose. The Pilates I was intending to do is put on hold; I want him to do this with me without struggling too much.

“Alright, let me know if you need a break.” I’m smiling. I have no doubt in my mind that Luke can follow my paces. He’s already athletic, working out at the gym or swimming laps in the pool. He stays fit, and now that I’m cleared, I really want to be in the pool with him. Even though I’d probably distract him, and we’d get a different kind of workout in.

I drop into a kneeling position, fold my torso over my thighs, and extend my arms forward. I peek to the side. Luke has it down to a science, minus tucking his toes together beneath his hips. It takes time to stretch your muscles and become more flexible.

“Still good?” I ask, tucking my tail bone in and planting my forehead on the mat, allowing the stretch to reach its fullest potential.

“Yeah, shit is harder than you think it would be,” Luke admits. We move together, arms going outwards. The tips of our fingers graze each other, and he moves his until we’re holding hands while we stay in position.

“A few times doing this with me, and you’ll love the way it works out kinks in your body.” I squeeze his hand; he reciprocates. “Ready for the next one?”

“Sure.” We let go, and I move until I’m sitting on the backs of my legs, watching him do similar to make sure he doesn’t get lightheaded with the movements.

“This one, we’ll be standing up. I’m going to show you the pose, and then we’ll do it together.” I move until I’m on all fours, placing my hands shoulder-width apart and my knees hip-width apart. I tuck my toes like you do with most poses when it comes to yoga. My core muscles engage as I lift my hips and back all while telling Luke, “It’ll help your hamstrings, calves, and shoulders. You’ll also strengthen your arms and legs.”
