“That sounds great. Sounds like you and your mom were close.”

“We were. We did everything together.”

“That’s nice. Just curious, what do you know about your mom’s lineage?”

“As a matter of fact quite a bit. My mom’s father was a Greek immigrant from Kavala and her mother was a first-generation Lebanese.”

“Wow. That explains a lot,” he says so matter of factly it makes my hackles rise.

“And what is that supposed to mean?” I ask him with righteous indignation. He has the nerve to give me his panty melting smile.

“It means it explains why you look like you walked right out of my dreams, hazel eyes.” Geesh. He likes rendering me speechless.

“Oliver,” I whisper his name, blushing once more not sure what else to say. He shrugs and looks back at the road.

“Just being honest. You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my life.”

“Really?” Great way to sound confident and mature, January.

“Really.”

“Thank you.”

“The truth doesn’t need a thanks.” He intertwines our fingers together and drives with one hand the rest of the way to his house. Me on the other hand, I sit in the passenger seat slowly falling in love. This has romantic dramedy written all over it.

OLIVER

ONE WEEK LATER

With Natalie away at summer camp, this trip to Savannah is just what I needed. We’re sitting in the waiting area of the Tattooed Vixen waiting for my Army buddy Isaac to finish up with his current client. We’ve spent the entire week sight-seeing and having fun. We met with Jason Hall, the possible donor, but he wasn’t the one. January was a little bummed out, but the look on her face as she looks through the design books makes me happy.

The other great thing about Savannah is the hotel we booked mixed up the reservations and instead of two rooms, there was only one room, two beds. Each moment of this trip has me falling harder and harder in love with her. It’s also getting harder and harder not to tell her. Last night, after we’d gone to sleep, something woke me up. It was her. She was talking in her sleep. For twenty minutes, I listened to her sleepy voice talk to me, well not me, but me. Then she moaned and writhed in the sheets. She was thinking about me fucking her and then I couldn’t sleep at all after that. How could I? My cock was so hard, I had to take a shower just so that I could jerk off to thoughts of her.

“What did you decided on?” I ask, needing to hear her voice. I love her voice, especially when she’s excited. I love everything about her, but spending time with her is making me want more. Need more.

“I’m not sure yet. We decided on the date we met, but I am not sure what else yet.”

“I decided on the date of course as well as an anchor.” She’s my anchor. I realize that it’s crazy to feel this way about after so little time, but I don’t care. Love isn’t rational, it’s by its very definition irrational.

“That’ll be so adorable.” She grins at me, and I swear my heart skips a beat in my chest.

“Alright, who’s first?” Isaac says, coming into the waiting area.

“Ladies first,” I say. “You want me to come with you?”

“No, I shouldn’t be long,” she says. She has this sneaky quality about her, and I don’t hate it.

“No problem.” I sit back down as she goes with Isaac.

Less than an hour later, she comes back out, but I don’t see a tattoo anywhere.

“Did you chicken out?” I ask.

“Nope,” she says, laughing.

“Are you going to show me?”

“Not right now, but soon I promise. Besides, it’s covered up right now.”

“Fine. Keep your secrets,” I say laughing.

“Ready bro? I’ve everything cleaned up and ready for you.”

“I’m ready,” I say, shaking my head. I hear her start talking to the girl at the counter.

“How have you been, Isaac?” I ask, dropping down into his chair.

“Been good. In the reserves now. You?”

“Discharged six months ago. Medical. Looking for the next thing.”

“How’s that going?” he asks as he makes the transfer of the anchor I selected.

“It’s not. As you can see I jumped at the chance to travel with January.”

“What’s going on there?”

“Nothing yet, but I know she’s mine. Have you ever felt that way?”

“Yeah man. I’ve been married three years to the most beautiful girl in the world,” he says, gesturing to the picture on his table. It’s currently wrapped in Saran Wrap, but I can see that she’s curvy and just his type. “That’s my Abby.”

“She’s pretty,” I tell him, but no one compares to January.

“Yeah, she’s pregnant for the second time right now.” The look of proud and adoration on his face. “Our Elise is eighteen months old now.”

“That’s great, Isaac. Congrats man.”
