And then he leaned in so smoothly I did feel like an antelope caught unaware, except doom turned out to be a feathery brush of lips softer than my sweater and even more comforting than cashmere. Firm, like he knew he was in control and intended to stay that way.

Nope. Couldn’t have that. I kissed him back, moving in deeper, the way I would if I were really into someone. Which, apparently, I was, if my dick were to be believed. I wasn’t sure I’d ever been this hard before. From a kiss. That didn’t even involve tongues yet.

Huh. Maybe that would be the part that made me call the whole thing off. I traced the seam of his lips with my tongue, and he effortlessly let me in. So effortlessly, I realized an instant too late that he’d been in control this whole time, his pleased groan saying he’d been waiting for me to do exactly that. My tongue touched his, and then I was the one to groan.

I retreated, but only because it meant he followed me to my mouth, a sensation even better than his soft lips, the way his tongue filled my senses, how good his hand felt on my jaw as he stroked and kissed me until I lost all sense of time. Seriously. The New Year’s ball could have dropped, and I would have just nodded like, yup, that tracks.

I’d expected the rasp of his beard to be distracting at best and a possible turn-off at worst, but my fickle body kept tossing me more curveballs. I loved the subtle drag of hair against my jaw and cheek so much that I had to touch it with my fingers. Soft. Wiry. Electric.

My entire body felt like a downed power line, sparking with dangerous energy that had nowhere to go. I groaned again as he pulled me closer, angling our bodies together. Damn, he was strong. My chest vibrated like I could feel his heart beating against mine.

And we’d done the thing, kissed. Heck, we were way past kissing and into making out, but no way was I going to be the one who pulled back first. Not when it was this damn good.

He nipped and sucked at my lower lip, and my dick surged like my zipper was a mere inconvenience. Hell, I wasn’t sure anything could stop me right then. Felt like I might blow if he touched my tongue again with his. I moaned when he retreated, a sound of protest because I wanted more, damn it. I was nowhere ready to be done.

“Fuck. That…wow.” He sounded as kiss-drunk as I felt, like I’d chugged the entire bottle of that dessert wine and maybe one more for good measure.

“Yeah. Wow.” I supposed this was where I needed to thank him for the experiment and move back to my side of the couch. I opened my mouth to say more, but no sound came out.

“Damn, man.” Malik stretched, leaning back against the couch, legs slightly spread, sporting a satisfied grin. His eyes shifted, turning hotter, more feral. The cheetah indeed, but instead of afraid, all I felt was damn lucky to be his prey. “Anything else you’re curious about?”

It was a clear offer to keep going. Which meant he’d liked it too, right? I dropped my gaze to his lap. Yep, he was definitely turned on, which emboldened me.

“Blowjobs,” I blurted, the word seeming to hang between us. The room went far too still and silent, so I sped up my talking. “I heard a guy say once that a BJ from another guy is different. Better.”

I half-expected him to tell me that was nonsense and a politically incorrect thought or some such, but instead, Malik nodded, voice all husky, “I’ve heard that too. That it’s supposedly better.”

“I could try it.” Blame the alcohol, the adrenaline, or my own inherent stupidity, but my pulse was back to a deafening roar.

“Try what?” Malik didn’t sound disinterested. Just slightly confused. “You want me to go down on you, or are you offering to do me? Test this theory of yours?”

“I could blow you.” I was all pumped, jumpy as a new recruit and just as eager. I had no idea where this adrenaline was coming from, but hell if I could stop it. “Like you said with kissing, I don’t have to keep going if it turns out to be too weird. But kissing went…good.”

“Kissing did go well.” He spread his legs wider.

“It did,” I whispered, barely breathing. “And you can tell me if the theory is right.”

“You and your experiments.” There was an unexpected fondness to his voice. “Go on then.”

He pushed lightly on my shoulder, all the encouragement I needed to sink to my knees in front of him. I paused, suddenly uncertain.

“Change your mind?” Malik laughed lightly, like reversing course would be no biggie.
