It was time though. He couldn’t very well be upset with her not sharing her apartment with him if he wasn’t willing to show her the nursery he had in his home.

He hoped she liked it. He couldn’t be sure. Heck, she couldn’t really know either. He was her first Daddy. It shouldn’t shock her though. Not in theory. After all, Ellie, Lark, and Daisy were good friends of hers and they all had nurseries.

Milo had slowly accumulated everything in that room over the course of years. Wishful thinking. He’d picked up the pace since meeting Riley. Also wishful thinking. She could have just as easily turned him down the first time he’d asked her out.

Ever since meeting Riley, Milo had started adding finishing touches to the special room he now thought of as hers. Bold colors and bright stuffies because those seemed to suit her best. Fluffy pillows and covers because he thought she needed a soft place to fall sometimes.

He wanted to be that comforting place more than anything in the world. Tonight, he would introduce her to the nursery. It was time. All he could do was pray she still wanted to be with him after she saw it.

Milo lifted his gaze to Tarson. “Sorry, man. I went into my head.”

“I get it. I went into my head a lot when Daisy and I first got together. There’s a lot to process as the pieces all fall into place. Being someone’s Daddy is a huge responsibility.”

“Yeah, but it’s very rewarding at the same time.” He was learning this more with every passing day. Lifting his Little girl out of his car earlier and carrying her into his bedroom to nap with her had made all the loose pieces fall into place.

She’d let him take charge of everything even though it was only for a short time and she’d been half asleep. She’d been the cutest Little girl in the world when she’d set her head on his shoulder and leaned on him, trusting him to take care of her.

“I should get back to the bar,” Milo said without giving a shit if Tarson made fun of him. As he turned to walk away, he glanced over his shoulder. “Tell Daisy the bathroom sign was hilarious.”

Tarson gave a full belly laugh but didn’t confirm or deny the validity of Milo’s assumption.

Chapter Twelve

“I have a surprise for you,” Milo stated as soon as they got to his house.

Riley clapped her hands together as he helped her out of the car. “Is it a pony?”

He laughed. “Silly girl.”

She giggled, a sound he loved. He also loved that she was suddenly very Little now that they’d reached his house. Somehow she’d made the transition from badass bartender to Little girl during the drive because her face was completely different now.

“How could you have a surprise for me in the house? I was with you when we left here earlier. You haven’t been back here in between.” She turned to face him, eyes wide. “If you left a pony in the house, I bet it’s done a lot of damage.”

He chuckled. “Is a pony something you’ve always wanted?”

She shook her head. “Nope. I have no interest in ponies, except for the small plastic ones Little girls play with. Those are cute. I’ve never had one, but I’ve seen other Littles playing with them at Blaze. If you got me one of those, I’d be tickled.”

He made a mental note to for sure get her a bunch of toy ponies one day soon. With a hand on the small of her back, he led her into the house. “The toy kind sure would make less of a mess in the house. Maybe they even sell a plastic barn to keep them from shitting all over the carpet.”

Riley giggled again. “That would be even better. To be honest, I’ve never really had many toys or other Little things. I usually just play in my Little space at the club. My apartment isn’t big enough for a lot of extra stuff.”

He was incredibly glad that he’d stocked the nursery with quite a few toys now. And it was a perfect time to show her since she’d just indicated an interest in having toys. He didn’t have any ponies, but he hadn’t known she wanted them unfortunately. “Come on. I think you’re going to like my surprise.”

Following her Daddy into his house, Riley was astounded to feel like she was coming home. How had she reconciled all this in her brain so fast? Allowing Milo in to see more of the real her than anyone else, being Little for the first time, and feeling comfortable in her colorful skin—these were all huge hurdles that Milo had helped her cross easily.

“How do you do it?” she asked.

“Do what, sweetheart?”
