Megan nodded and pushed back from the table. “You staying?” she asked over her shoulder as she walked out of the kitchen.

Part of me wanted to rage at her. Hell, yes, I was staying. Every. Fucking. Night.

Had she not figured that out yet? Had she not figured out I was in this for the long haul? That she’d never be alone again?

I knew she was stressed and tired and had a habit of pushing people away, but asking if I was staying wasn’t letting me in. She wanted sex. To lose herself in the pleasure I gave her.

That was the kicker. I gave her the escape she needed. I was the escape. She just didn’t see it that way yet. I let it go–for now–and followed her into the bedroom.

I leaned against the doorway with my arms folded across my chest as she stripped out of her clothes.

She came to me, naked. Beautiful. “I’m sorry.” Her hands went to my belt buckle and worked it open.

I watched her, not touching yet. “What for?”

“I didn’t want you involved.”

Dammit.

I snagged her around the waist and yanked her up against my body. “I’m involved,” I growled. “You’re involved, that means I’m involved. No fucking way I’d leave you high and dry on this, baby doll.”

She said nothing, just dropped to her knees and took my cock out.

Fuck me. I wrapped her hair around my fist as she tucked the head in her mouth and sucked. Her lips looked so incredible stretched around my thick member, taking me deeper and all the way to the back of her throat. She used her hand, fisting the base and dragging it in concert with the movement of her mouth, so it felt like she had all of me in deep.

I let out a groan. Sweet Jesus it felt so good. I wanted it to go on forever, but I was also already sweating, my balls heavy, my need thick.

Just when my thighs started quaking, she popped off and sat back on her heels. “Are you going to let me be in charge again tonight?”

No man in my position would’ve told her no. If she’d asked me to set my clothes on fire and dance on the roof, I would’ve said yes.

“That’s right, baby doll. I’m letting you. I could toss you onto that bed and fuck you six ways to Sunday. But I can see you need to be in charge. I’ll give you whatever you need.”

Her eyes widened as she processed my words, at what she’d said. I was dressed except for my hard dick out, while she was naked. Bare.

She nodded, then I let her lead me to the bed. I laid down and let her guide my arms above my head. When she handcuffed my wrists to the bed frame, I was already out of my mind with lust.

A spurt of pre-cum seeped from my slit, loving that she’d pulled out those fucking cuffs.

When she crawled over me and took me back in that sweet mouth of hers, I thought I’d died and gone to heaven. My hips bucked up even as I tried not to lunge down her throat.

“Hell, yes, baby doll. Just like that,” I groaned. “Climb up on me and let me finish in that tight pussy.”

“Nope,” she said, looking up my body. “I’m in charge, remember? This one’s for you.”

She took me deep into the back of her throat, making enthusiastic sounds as I shook and grunted beneath her. Holy fuck, did she even have a gag reflex?

“I’m going to come, doll,” I warned, but she still didn’t come off, not until she’d brought me to a shouted orgasm and swallowed down every drop of my cum. I lay there, catching my breath, my eyes closed, soaked in pleasure, and she slipped off the bed.

I thought she’d gone to the bathroom.

It took me a solid sixty seconds before I realized Megan hadn’t just left the bedroom.

“Megan?” I called.

She’d left the fucking house.

She’d handcuffed me to her bed and left.

And dammit–I knew exactly where she was headed.

CHAPTER

EIGHTEEN

MEGAN

I had to focus, but it was nearly impossible. I’d left Hayes handcuffed to my bed. I’d used the one thing that was a constant between us as a weapon. The one place where I’d let go completely, giving myself to someone in the most intimate of ways. I’d pushed him away. Over and over.

He’d proven he would stick. That he’d play by my rules.

Yet I’d just changed them.

To protect him. The idiot.

He didn’t belong on this job with me. If I got caught… well, I had before.

I was older now. Smarter. More skilled.

I was saving my father, but I wasn’t relying on him for support.

No. I was relying on myself, the only person I could trust.

Except… I could trust Hayes.

I cut across the open field and stumbled over a rock.
