“Well, would you like to play some more?” he asked.
“Yes.”
This was one of the many reasons he needed to marry her and pin her down as his wife. There was no way he was going to give anyone else the chance to see what a gem she was.
Chapter Fourteen
A Few Months Later
Summer had come to an end, and Halloween was right around the corner. Eden didn’t know where all the time went. Just that one moment she was sipping iced coffee, and the next a delicious pumpkin latte with cream and sprinkles, which was divine. Razor was also talking about couples’ costumes and Eden had never really dressed up for Halloween.
Maeve had tended to go to the parties. Eden thought she would, but Mac hadn’t been into Halloween parties. Or, she should say, he hadn’t been into her. He’d probably been into a lot of other women.
She still couldn’t get the horrible words Mac had said out of her mind. Things with her and Razor were amazing.
Sure, in the last few months, he had seemed to be more secretive. She also noticed that whenever she walked into a room with Maeve and Razor, both would go completely silent, and her sister would find some excuse to leave. She had no idea what was going on.
The week before Halloween, the Chaos Monsters MC was having a Halloween party, and Maeve came into her bedroom, complete with the costume.
“What’s this?” Eden asked.
“This is the costume for you to wear tonight,” she said.
She frowned. “I was just going to wear a dress tonight.”
Maeve shook her head. “No, you can’t wear just any dress. You’ve got to wear this.” Maeve unzipped the dress, and it was a white dress, complete with a halo.
“An angel?” Eden asked.
“Yes, not just any angel, you’re going to be Razor’s angel.”
Eden sighed. “Seriously.”
Maeve frowned. “What’s up with you? You’ve been different lately. A little withdrawn.”
Eden shrugged. “It’s not a big deal.”
“Come on. You’re a terrible liar. Talk to me.”
“It’s nothing, okay? It’s not a big deal. Not at all.” Eden stared at the dress. Was this how Razor saw her, as an angel?
Admittedly, he shouldn’t really be thinking that, seeing as they had spent the last few months training her ass to take him. He had used an assortment of anal toys and butt plugs to prepare her. They hadn’t gone all the way yet, but she knew she was ready. He did like to use vibrators in her ass, especially when he was deep inside her, and there was no way to escape. She couldn’t get enough of him.
“Eden, you could never hide anything from me, and don’t start now. What’s on your mind?” Maeve asked.
“It’s nothing, really.” Eden said.
“Talk to me.”
Eden sighed. She hadn’t wanted to make a big deal, but she couldn’t keep it to herself. “A few months ago, Mac came to see me.”
“That bastard came here to see you?”
“Yeah.”
“What the fuck did he want?” Maeve glared.
“He wanted to try and win me back. He thought he knew me, but I proved to him that he knew nothing.”
“Of course he didn’t know anything about you. The guy is a cheating, fucking loser who needs his balls chopped off.”
Eden laughed. “You and balls and chopping, you know you say it a lot.”
“When it comes to you, I am not above ball-chopping threats to make the men know I mean business. You’re my sister, Eden, I know how amazing you are, and it pisses me off that no one else sees that.”
She looked toward her sister and hugged her.
“Stop distracting me. Tell me what that asshole said that clearly has you all in a tizzy.”
Eden pulled away. “He kind of implied that ... Razor is using me.”
“What the ever-loving fuck?” Maeve asked.
“And I tried to forget about it, but the last few weeks, Razor has been distracted. What if he has found another woman? What if there is someone out there that is a million times better than me?”
“Okay, now I want you to shut up. I rarely told you to do so when we were kids, so I can tell you to do that now. Shut up. Razor is not looking elsewhere. He’s not distracted. He is not going to find any other woman, do you hear me?” Maeve had cupped her face. “I have never lied to you, and I have never steered you wrong. Whatever bullshit that asshole told you, ignore it. He was hurt because you turned your back on him, and clearly, he doesn’t know shit. That fucker.”
“But he has sent me an angel costume,” Eden said. “Clearly, he thinks I’m not good enough.”
“What the...” Maeve stopped, closed her eyes, and then lifted her hands in the air, taking a deep breath and exhaling as she brought her hands down, bringing the tips of her fingers together. “Do you trust me?”
