Tyson shrugged. “Do you see my dad on the lacrosse field with me?”

“I don’t know. I’ve never been to one of your games. I try not to do boring shit.”

He laughed. “You should come. I could give you a jersey with my number on it. You could cheer for me on the sidelines, instead of looking up videos of me on social media to jerk off to afterward. It’s okay if you like me, Sunshine.”

“Not even if you were the last man on earth.”

“Whatever you have to tell yourself.”

Unfortunately, when it came to Tyson Langley, my dick wasn’t on board with the rest of me. He was very much interested in getting to know Lacrosse up close and personal.

Professor Meyer came in then, so I didn’t have to respond. He launched straight into a lecture.

I pulled out my computer for notes.

Tyson did the same.

I started typing.

He did too.

The more I wrote, the more he did. I sped up my fingers, and he did as well.

“Are you really trying to turn this into a competition?” I whispered.

“Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t realize you were still here. Aren’t you supposed to not care about school? There should only be nerds in this scenario. Not guys who look like you, ride motorcycles, and have been arrested.”

“Who’s looking up whom online again?” I didn’t care that he knew about my past. I wasn’t proud of any of the dumb things I’d done, but I wasn’t ashamed of them either. It had all been at my dad’s insistence, and I hadn’t done anything like that for years. Most of it had been scams Dad had tried to pull, using me and Asher as pawns. Free meals out, faked injuries, he’d made us do it all to help him get the things he wanted. The one and only time I’d been arrested for stealing was something he pushed me into doing too. “Also, what’s with you and all this bad boy, nerd, whatever the fuck? You’re always mentioning it. I feel like you live in a teen rom-com.”

“Mr. Walker, be quiet or get out, please. If you don’t want to be here, then don’t,” Professor Meyer said before slipping right back into his discussion. Because of course it would only be me he mentioned. Not Mr. Star Lacrosse Player. But I was used to the way the world worked.

I got back to taking notes, completely ignoring Tyson. He was a distraction I didn’t need. When class was over, I shoved my shit into my bag and went for the door.

“Hey, Sunshine. Wait up,” Tyson called, following me.

“Fuck you.”

He fell into step with me as we walked outside. “It’s not my fault Meyer is a prick.”

He wasn’t most of the time. I actually really liked him. “No, but it is your fault you’re one.”

“Takes one to know one. Pricks unite!”

Don’t smile. Do not fucking smile. “There’s something wrong with you.” I didn’t have time for this. I had class, my TA responsibilities, then work.

“I guess this isn’t the best time to tell you I met up with Oscar yesterday.”

I stopped dead in my tracks. No. No, no, no, no. “On a Sunday?”

“He’s desperate. Most people are when it comes to me.”

“Has anyone ever told you you’re a conceited asshole?”

“Just you,” Tyson replied. “My new coworker. Who’s more than a little bit in love with me.”

Fuck. My. Life. Why did he want to screw with me so much? It wasn’t like he needed a job. “No matter how many times you tell yourself that, it doesn’t make it true.”

He looked at me, full of smugness, like he knew my dick was really interested in making his acquaintance. I hated that he could see it, that he always found a way to get me off my game. But then I remembered his reaction to my tongue meeting his earlobe…and the fact that what I had to say was also true.

So I stepped closer, like I had at Shenanigans Friday night. “I might not like you, but if I’m bored enough and you’re lucky enough, I might be willing to fuck you. You know, just to do you a favor and all, since you’re so obsessed with me.”

I stepped back. Tyson’s mouth had fallen open, and damned if I didn’t notice how kissable his lips were, if I didn’t think about how they’d look stretched around my cock.

When I walked away, he didn’t have anything to say. For the first time, I’d left Tyson Langley speechless. The satisfaction didn’t last long because I really did want to fuck him…and now I was going to be spending even more time with him at Shenanigans.

I was so screwed.

CHAPTER FOUR

Ty

This whole job thing already sucked, and I hadn’t even had my first shift yet.

Today I’d only had two hours between my last class of the day and practice. Coach was working us like crazy because our first game was coming up. We were expected to be the best as we were the reigning champions from last season. And now I had to work on top of it. The good thing was, Oscar had been ready and willing to give me a job ASAP and work around my lacrosse schedule—something that would have been practically impossible if I’d tried for a position in tech. I couldn’t pretend that accommodating me wasn’t partly because of who I was. San Luco lived and breathed Kings lacrosse and football—well, everyone except Braxton, but I wasn’t thinking about him. Nope. Not at all.
