Serpentine men were slim and lithe and covered in scales—none of them had many muscles to speak of. Torin was different. His smooth, marble-gray skin covered an extremely muscular physique—his biceps flexed and bulged when he moved his arms and his abdomen was ridged with muscle as well. Even his back and shoulders were muscular.

Sky had never seen anything like it and her first thought was that she shouldn’t like it. After all, it wasn’t what she was used to. But though she had grown up with the Serpentine people, it wasn’t like she found them attractive. She had never lusted after a Serpentine male—not even when she bought some time with a Pleasure Worker—that was only to scratch an itch. She didn’t find them unattractive, but they didn’t get her heart beating faster either.

But Torin…for some reason seeing the giant Kindred with his shirt off did make her heart beat faster, though she had no idea why. Maybe it was all the latent power in his big body—he looked strong enough to tear the ship in half with his bare hands. It made her wonder if he could have gotten out of her hold at the thresh café if he’d wanted to and had simply chosen not to.

But she wasn’t going to let him know that seeing him half naked made her heart thump in her chest. Instead, she raised both eyebrows and stared at him incredulously.

“So what’s with this new look? Especially the collar and leash?” she asked again, since he hadn’t answered her the first time.

Torin took a deep breath—there was a look on his face that was hard to interpret. Maybe embarrassment mixed with determination? Sky wasn’t sure but she thought that was it—she was getting better at reading his expressions.

“This…is my bodyslave outfit,” he said in a low voice.

“Your what?” Sky shook her head. “I don’t understand.”

“You know that the Yonnites think the only good use for males is as bodyslaves right? Males who protect their Mistresses and service them sexually,” he added.

“Yes, well…I guess so.” Honestly, Sky hadn’t known a lot about Yonnie Six until this case had come up. The planet was in another sector of the galaxy, far from Portex Three, so it didn’t concern her.

“So in order to fit in with their society, I’m going to have to pretend to be your bodyslave and you’re going to have to be my Mistress,” Torin explained patiently. “It’s the only way I’ll be allowed on the planet.”

“So there really aren’t any other males other than slaves there?” Sky asked, frowning.

“Not in the place we’re going—which is the capital city of Opulex. There are gangs of ex-bodyslaves roaming the streets in some of the bad parts of town, but they wouldn’t be welcome in polite society. Which is where we’re going to have to go in order to access the records and forensics of the past cases.”

“All right…how do I act like your Mistress?” Sky found herself intrigued by this new role. She rose from the couch she’d been sitting on and came to stand in front of him in the middle of the living area of the ship. “Teach me,” she said.

Torin looked down at her and shrugged, his broad shoulders rolling.

“Just…act like you own me.”

“Like this?”

Sky put one hand on his broad chest, running her palm and fingers lightly over his smooth, muscular skin. He was so much warmer than a Serpentine, she thought and his spicy, masculine scent was stronger with his shirt off—it made her want to bury her face in his neck and breathe him in.

Deciding to give in to the impulse, she beckoned to him.

“Come down here,” she ordered.

A look of confusion crossed his face but he bent down anyway and Sky pressed her face against the side of his neck.

Torin froze at once but he didn’t try to move away, as Sky nuzzled the vulnerable side of his throat.

“What’s wrong, Giant?” she murmured. “Don’t you like this? Are you afraid I’ll take your vein?”

A shiver went though the giant Kindred but he didn’t move away from her. He just stood there, bending down so she could reach his throat.

“I…don’t know,” he said, his deep voice slightly hoarse. “I suppose you will if you want to.”

“Call me ‘Mistress,’” Sky instructed him. After all, she was playing a part—she might as well get into it, she reasoned.

“I guess you’ll bite me if you want to, Mistress,” he repeated hoarsely.

“Well, I’m not going to, so you can relax,” Sky told him. “I just wanted to smell you—I like your scent. It’s…different from a Serpentine male.”

She inhaled deeply, breathing in his dark, rich, spicy aroma, filling her lungs with it just for the pleasure of the experience. She’d always had a very sensitive sense of smell and the big Kindred’s personal scent seemed to call to her in a way she couldn’t understand or deny. It made her pussy feel wet and hot and her nipples were tight and achy as she nuzzled his neck.
