We didn’t move for a moment, just knelt there, breathing, our bodies sticking together with sweat, his load on my hand and mine filling him, where my cock still was.

When I softened and pulled out, I pushed two fingers inside him.

“Fuck… God, that’s good. I’m sensitive, but it’s still good,” he said, his eyes fluttering.

“Wanna push it as far inside you as I can. I want to keep it there.”

Ryder closed his eyes, turned his head, and kissed my temple.

We managed to maneuver so we lay on the couch, on our sides, facing each other. His top leg hitched over my hip, my fingers still sliding slowly in and out of his cummy hole.

“Never wanted someone inside me so much in my life,” he admitted. “But I’ve never wanted inside someone so bad either.”

I couldn’t answer, didn’t know what to say, just leaned in and let my tongue stroke his and our lips move together.

“What are we going to do?” he asked when we parted.

“I don’t know,” I answered honestly, but now that I’d had Ryder, I knew I couldn’t let him go.

We lay there together, wrapped up in each other. I didn’t know how much time had passed when I said, “We’re gonna get your couch messy.”

“I don’t care. Stay with me tonight—right here.”

I kissed his temple. “Do you want to clean up?”

“No. I don’t want to move.” We didn’t speak for a moment, and then Ryder said, “It wasn’t like that…before.” I winced. “I know it’s uncomfortable to talk about, but I need you to know it wasn’t like that, with her or with anyone. With her, I…struggled. It was a problem between us.”

I nodded, thankful, and that made me the world’s biggest asshole. This whole situation did. “It’s never been like that for me either.”

I couldn’t keep my fingers in place all night, so I pulled them free, not caring about the mess left behind, and we stayed there, just like he wanted, a tangle of bodies, awake…then asleep, and when morning came, awake again.

“I have to get to the hospital.” I’d have just enough time to run to my unit, shower, and head out before I was late.

“Yeah, I need to get to the shop too.” Ryder’s voice was hoarse from sleep and so damn sexy.

The night came crashing down on me again—what we’d done. That I’d slept with my sister’s ex-husband. Her former best friend. The man whose family business rivaled ours. Who my parents ended a lifelong friendship over. My parents, who were already disappointed in everything I did.

“Don’t do that, Hutch. Don’t get in your head, and don’t…regret it.”

“You don’t?” I asked, and he flinched. “Shit. I didn’t mean that. You know I didn’t. I need to go. We’ll talk later.”

Ryder was on the outside of the couch, and he sat up so I could stand. I gathered my clothes, put them on. I was sticky with dried cum and sweat, and I hated to get dressed without a shower, but it wasn’t as if I could walk back to my unit naked, and I couldn’t let myself take one here.

I made it a few steps toward the door, stopped, turned, and looked at him. Ryder still sat on the couch, his elbows on his knees, his hands covering his face. “Ryder?”

He looked up at me but didn’t speak.

“I don’t regret you.”

“I don’t regret you either,” he replied.

I smiled, then walked out before I did something stupid like kiss him again.

Ryder

I felt him all day. It’d been a while since I’d been fucked, and Hutch had done it so spectacularly. It was more than that, though. I hadn’t known how to stop myself from wanting him before, and now that feeling had intensified. Which meant the guilt had too, part of it because of what this would mean for him.

Hutch had a whole lot more at stake than I did. Kinsley would have nothing bad to say. She’d back me up no matter what because she knew me well enough to realize that if I was risking this, if I was doing it, it meant Hutch was important to me. My parents would ultimately support me, though they would likely be disappointed I’d let it get this far, that I’d gotten so close to Hutch, because of the relationship between our families and because of Mads. What kind of man falls in…deep like?—I wasn’t sure what to call it—with his ex-wife’s brother? But Hutch’s family…

“Hello? Earth to Ryder?” Bryson, one of my mechanics, snapped his fingers in front of my face. “You good, man? I asked you a question, and you didn’t respond. You’ve been staring into that engine for a good five minutes without moving.”

“Yeah. Sorry. Was just thinking about someone.”

Jesus, what would all this do to Hutch? I didn’t want to come between him and his family. I didn’t want to make things worse for him, but I wanted to be with him too.
