The crowd gets to their feet, roaring for their team, but we keep our heads in the game. It’s not long until the buzzer sounds through the arena, signaling the end of our first period.

We barrel off the ice and Coach Harris gets straight into his spiel, giving us guidance and pointing out the weaknesses he was able to catch from the other team. I take a drink, and before I know it, we’re back on the ice, dominating the rink once again.

The game continues with intense ferocity, neither team wanting to be the ones to have to claim a loss for the first game of the season. But I fully intend to wrap up this season as the undefeated champions.

The countdown is on, and before I know it, we’re down to the last few minutes of the game. We’re exhausted, but we’re in better shape than our opposition. The scoreboard reads 4-2 our way, and that’s exactly how I intend for it to stay. Though, I’m certainly not going to argue if my boys want to kick it up a notch.

The last few minutes fly by, and as the buzzer sounds through the arena, my body stalls in shock. The mighty Dragons have officially been declared the winners of tonight’s game. Coach roars and throws his clipboard high into the sky, which barely avoids Bobby’s face as it comes back down, and we step off the ice. I know damn well nothing will stop us now.

Twenty minutes later, we’re showered, dressed, and ready for a night of celebrations. “Where to, boys?” Aaron asks as he grabs his skate bag off the bench, his face still red from the intense workout that game just put us through.

“Tradition,” Shorty says. “Home game, so it’s Micky’s bar.”

Everyone grunts their approval as we make our way out of the locker room and into the throng of loyal fans who wait for us at the other end of the hallway. They take us in greedily, clapping us on the back and celebrating along with us, while some go the extra distance and shove pens and notepads in our faces, asking for autographs. It takes a few minutes to get through the crowd and we’re just about there when I spot Dani a few feet away, the merchandise table keeping her insanely busy. I call out her name and watch as her head snaps up and begins searching me out.

Dani’s eyes land on mine and she gives me one hell of a gorgeous smile. “Meet us at Micky’s?” I shout, hoping she can lip-read as the roar of the crowd gets louder when they begin to chant the Dragons’ war cry.

She nods and turns back to the lady in front of her, handing over at least five copies of the calendar. My eyes practically bulge out of my head. Shit, it must be selling well.

Making our way out the front of the stadium, we pour into the parking lot. A few of the boys climb into my SUV and dump their bags in the back. Two minutes later, we pull up at Micky’s and get the party started.

The bar is packed with college students, and we’re welcomed in like celebrities. A table is cleared and the boys settle in, ready for a great night. Waitresses deliver beer and the music is cranked up.

Our table is swarmed with every available girl in the bar looking for a good time, and I bat away a few needy chicks, keeping my eyes glued to the door. The anticipation builds as I wait for that one particular girl who’s going to turn this already fantastic night into an incredible one.

“Here’s to being undefeated,” Jaxon hollers like the moron he is as he raises his glass.

I can’t wipe the smile off my face as the whole bar cheers right along with him, raising their drinks and chanting to the mighty Dragons. Does winning one game even count as being undefeated?

A familiar wave of golden hair steals my attention, and my back straightens, locking my stare onto her sexy little body. I get up from the table and make my way across the bar, in case for some reason she can’t quite find the loudest table in the place. “Sorry, I took so long,” Dani says as I step into her, taking her waist and pulling her in. “Apparently, you guys are the sexiest man-meat on campus and every girl within a hundred-mile radius needed a calendar for her spank bank.”

“What did you expect?” I tease, indicating my body as if it’s God’s gift to womankind.

“You’re an idiot,” she laughs, swatting at my chest. “But you did great tonight.”

I give her a cheesy smile and wink. “Let’s get you a drink.”

Taking her hand, I lead her back to the table where the boys jump up, offering their seats. Dani laughs them off and goes to sit beside me, but I give her a tug, making her fall into my lap. My hand rests against her thigh as she hooks her arm around my neck, right where she belongs.
