It doesn’t help that I feel totally out of my element here. Damon’s office is spare, modern, and stylish with blonde wood furniture and a neutral, beige rug. It’s highly professional, as is everyone else I encountered on my way in. The women look so chic. They dress in a sophisticated manner that screams subtlety and finesse. Flaunting their female assets could be a detriment to a woman in the business world, but these ladies seem to know exactly how to walk the line between subtly sexy and pure corporate dominance. I picture myself in a killer pant suit, looking like I mean business instead. As if.

Unfortunately, my skirt suit is sorely lacking. Instead of picking it up at a designer boutique, I got mine off the rack at Ann Taylor. To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised to even find a skirt suit in my closet. My job requires me to flaunt my assets, so I have a ton of bodycon cocktail dresses, but business attire? Not so much.

Unfortunately, said skirt suit has a skirt far shorter than I would have liked for the occasion. I tug on it discreetly now, trying to stretch it a millimeter further down my thigh. Mr. Pratt’s eyes gleam as he notices my gesture and I immediately stop. Oh god, he saw.

Plus, it doesn’t help my sudden case of stage fright that the person I am pitching my idea to also happens to be an incredibly attractive man. Damon looks even better than I remember and seeing him in a fancy suit sitting behind his massive desk is turning me on like no other. I can’t help but remember how I pleasured myself to the thought of him last night. Can he tell? No, right? I swallow hard and force myself to remain professional, slapping on a wan smile.

“I have a business proposition for you,” I say in a formal voice. He leans back in his chair and steeples his hands, the corner of his mouth quirking up.

“What kind of proposition?” His voice is low and smooth, making shivers go down my spine. But it’s now or never, so I lay it out on the table for him.

“I want to go into business for myself.”

“Really?” he asks, one brow raised.

“Yes,” I nod smartly. “I want to open my own escorting business called Saucy Nights.” Now, Damon’s other brow twitches up as well.

“I see,” he says. There’s a momentary pause and I blush hotly.

“So what do you think?” I stammer. “I have the chops. I know this business inside out. I can do it!”

He nods thoughtfully, and to my immense relief, the alpha male’s not laughing. Then, those deep brown eyes turn to me, although his mobile mouth still has that quirk of a smile at one corner.

“Let me ask you this, Rose: how was working as an escort? And why the sudden desire to be the boss?” I blush at his words. It pains me for him to be thinking about my ‘duties’ as a call girl because it’s embarrassing, even now. But I remind myself that I can’t be embarrassed about this. I’m a businesswoman, and I’m looking for an investment in my start-up. I have to be direct and professional.

“Being an escort is fine, but I’ve been doing it for four years and I’m ready to transition into management. Unfortunately, that’s impossible at City Girls, so I’ve realized that setting up my own shop is the way to go.”

He nods his acknowledgement and then turns his chair to the side, revealing a strong, proud profile. Gazing out the window, the businessman ponders my words for a moment. Then, turning back to face me, he finally asks, “But why are you here, sweetheart? What can I do to help? Sure, I created my own business, but I’m an architect. We design buildings, and I’m not sure how much overlap there is there.”

I take a deep breath. At least he’s taking me seriously.

“Mr. Pratt, I need investment capital in order to start the business, and Lucy thought that you might be interested. She said it was better to ask than not ask, so I thought I’d come by and see? I don’t know, would you be willing to invest in me?” Damon seems to relax a bit. Time feels like it slows down as I wait for his answer, watching as he takes a deliberate sip of his coffee.

To my surprise, he stands up and smiles. I watch, unsure what to expect. Then, the alpha male walks over to my side of the desk, leaning back against the heavy oak frame. He’s now probably only five feet away, close enough to smell the musk of his cologne. As I look up at his massive form through my lashes, I feel my heart swell in my chest. This man’s scent alone is enough to get me high.
