Grim pulled back. “You’ve got an hour.”

She rarely needed an hour to get ready and he knew it. Taking the outfit from his hands, she made her way upstairs. She congratulated herself on not rushing or looking like an excited teenager.

Before she knew Grim, or when Grim was Graham, they had always enjoyed going out. Grim would regularly take her out to dinner or dancing. Sometimes they would go to the movies, and now she knew why sometimes the theater seemed empty. It was but for Grim’s guards. They had always been there, keeping an eye on everything, watching them at all times.

He’d taken her to the beach during the summer. They, at one point, had found a secluded spot where Grim had made love to her all afternoon. It had been a magical moment.

With those memories rushing through her, Eve couldn’t believe her excitement. Closing her door, she didn’t for a second hesitate as she opened the dress cover, and on the hanger was a red dress.

A few months ago, she had gone shopping with him. Grim had wanted to spoil her with an all-expense-paid shopping trip. Most of her own clothes were well-worn, with darned holes, or some holes beyond repair. Grim had insisted on treating her to a whole new wardrobe. The experience had been out of this world, mainly because he’d somehow managed to get the whole shop to himself. She had found him a little rude with how abrupt he was to the woman who’d been trying to flirt with him. At the same time, she kind of liked it, because it meant he wasn’t interested in anyone but her.

That had been a heady experience. During her look around the shop, she had spotted this incredible red dress. The bodice seemed to be shaped around the breasts, tapering in at the waist, but then flaring out at the hips. It looked stunning, and she loved it. But she had refused to get it for fear of looking like a frump in such a fine dress. She’d been a little afraid of it.

Brushing her fingers across the dress, she couldn’t help but smile. Grim had known, she didn’t know how, but he had.

Eve moved quickly, taking the fastest shower she’d ever taken. Drying herself completely, she took care of her hair as well, using the dryer that had been magically placed in the room. Once again, Grim thinking of everything.

How can you hate him?

He lied to me!

Did he, or did you just do a lot of assuming?

Eve didn’t like to think of where her thoughts were going, so instead, she focused on getting ready. She didn’t want to keep Grim waiting any longer than she already had. He’d given her an hour and she refused to be late, but there was nothing wrong with being early. Once her hair was done, her body dried, she spotted the small cosmetics bag and opened it up. The few items she wore from time to time were there.

She didn’t want to do a lot of makeup, so she settled on some mascara to enhance the length of her lashes, eyeliner for her top lid, as well as her bottom. Lip liner and lipstick, but left everything else as is.

Eve stared at her reflection, feeling the butterflies returning to her stomach. She tried to ignore them. She found a bra and pair of panties in the bag, which she quickly pulled on. Not in the least bit shocked that they fit.

Now it was time for the dress, which was the part she was most nervous about. Pushing those nerves to one side, she stepped into it, and it had a side zipper. Slowly, she pulled it up, expecting the dress to not fit, and yet it did like a second skin, and what was more, it felt so incredible.

Eve took a quick glance in the mirror and then breathed a sigh of relief. She hoped Grim liked it.

Chapter Seven

“Fuck off!”

Grim didn’t like when people stood in his way, so one by one, they moved. Some of the men looked like they wanted to argue with him, but the moment they saw his face, they moved out of the way.

“Grim, you don’t have to be so rude,” Eve said.

Eve didn’t realize that the only person in his life he wasn’t rude to was her, and maybe some of his men. That was only if they didn’t deserve it. Everyone else could literally fuck off. He hadn’t gotten where he was by wearing his heart on his sleeve, nor would he ever. Doing shit like that was for fucking morons.

Arriving at the exclusive nightclub he owned, he took her straight to the VIP section. This was one of his legitimate businesses. His nightclubs were all sought after and in the public eye. He didn’t allow any products to be sold within the club.
