“Mr. Black, are you going to destroy all my panties? I might just have to stop wearing them.”

I lean over and wrap my fist around her throat, lifting her head closer as I continue drilling her. “Don’t even think about it. I don’t want your pretty pussy dripping juices all over any seat for a man to enjoy when you get up to stand. You’re mine.” With my other hand, I reach between her and the desk and run my fingers down her mound. “This juicy slit is only for me.”

“Landon, I’m going to come.”

“Good.” I pull out and she gasps, but I’m not done with her. I set her on the desk and then slam back in. “Much better. I want to see your face when you cream all over me.” Cupping her neck, I tilt her head and take her lips, sliding my tongue around hers. Lara moans in my mouth as her orgasm rips through her, squeezing and choking my cock. Unable to hang on, I pick up the pace, grunting and sweating as I lose it and fill her with me.

Hearts racing, I press my head to hers as I hold her up. “Lara, Lara, Lara,” I pant.

“So are you going to tell me the truth about your assistant?” she asks hours later as we lie in bed. I told the truth. I never slept with her and never would have.

“What the fuck do you mean?” I snarl, feeling offended and a bit concerned because she doesn’t trust me and I thought we’d moved past that.

“I mean what I said. You came out of that room spooked. Not shocked. That’s a completely different thing, like you got caught red-handed. Now, I know you didn’t do anything with her, because I could have smelled it on you so I knew you weren’t lying to me, but I also know you’re not being honest, and fuck if I’m going to put up with that bullshit.”

Ugh, for all the skills I learned, I thought I could pull off a poker face with the woman I love. “Nothing happened. Honestly, she got a little too familiar and I took it the wrong way.”

“What do you mean?” Lara sits up, holding the sheet to her naked body. “Too familiar? Please explain before I lose my shit.”

“She called me by my first name and put her hand on my arm. I got pissed and told her not to do that again.”

“Anything else?”

“No.”

“But you think there’s more to it?” Damn, this woman is too shrewd. She could work for me with those skills, but then my ass would never get any work done.

“I don’t know. As long as she’s worked for me, not once has she been that way, so no, but I was pissed at the call. Maybe she was trying to be friendly. I just didn’t like her touching me because I worried you’d get the wrong fucking impression.”

“Well, your attitude did that for you.” She pokes my chest.

I take her hand and bring it to my lips, kissing the finger she jammed into me. “Do you want me to fire her?”

She taps her chin, thinking about it before she finally answers, “No. It’s not like I haven’t been polite to men, thinking nothing of it because they were in a bad mood. It might just be a nurturing thing we do and a way to calm their tempers. If anything else happens, I’ll rope her ass up and toss her into a mud pit.”

I’m kind of glad because I’m not interested in wasting time looking for a replacement. “I’m marrying a country girl for sure.”

She tips an imaginary cowboy hat. “Sorry, city boy. I can always find a cowboy if you’d like.” I pounce on her instantly because fuck if she’s going to end up with anyone else but me. “The fuck you are. You’re mine, and I’m going to remind your sexy country-ass every single day.” I grab my tie off the nightstand and pull her hands together with one of mine before wrapping the silk around her wrists. “You’re mine. I’ve got my own rope, baby.”

“And so soft too,” she moans, sliding her tied wrists up her stomach to her bared breasts.

“Are you trying to get nailed again?”

“Says the man who tied me up with a silk tie while I’m naked in his bed.”

“Our bed,” I remind her. She needs to get used to the idea, which she’s not. In due time, she’ll be on the same level, and then we’ll be getting married. She doesn’t know it, but I have no intention of letting her slip through my fingers. It doesn’t matter what I have to do to keep my love. She’s everything, and every second that passes, my emotions only deepen.

I hear a ringing and I don’t want to interrupt this moment, but I know it’s probably important. “That’s my phone.”
