She smiled and quickly followed his directions. “Can I have your number? It would be easier to contact you directly.”
“Of course.” Koa recited the number and had her call him to double check she had it correct. He quickly saved her number as well.
“Ugh,” another customer said and moved to a table farther away with her nose in the air.
Giana’s lips twitched with amusement as she tried not to laugh.
Koa leaned slightly away from the beautiful woman next to him. “I probably smell like I’ve done a million jumping jacks,” he said as he quickly replaced his identification.
“Add a few thousand burpees,” she suggested with a smirk.
He had to laugh. Her training as a firefighter was intense as well. Giana would be used to being with a group of smelly athletes. That didn’t excuse his odor. “Sorry. I didn’t stop to take a shower. I wanted to come find you.”
“I’m glad you did. Let’s go before they kick us out for spoiling the caffeine brew scent in here,” Giana suggested.
Koa stood and waited for Giana to join him. Needing to touch her, he placed his hand lightly on her lower back and guided her out of the coffee shop. “I’m in that black truck,” he said, pointing to his vehicle. It was wonky in the parking lot, revealing his need to get to her quickly.
“I’m over there, in that black truck,” she told him with a laugh.
Koa shook his head in disbelief. His Little was so right for him. He couldn’t wait to learn everything about her. To his delight, she stepped close and lifted her chin to ask for a kiss. Koa wrapped his hands around her waist and fought his desire to pull her tight against his post-training sweatiness as he kissed her. Her flavor and eagerness thrilled him.
Don’t go too fast, he reminded himself. Her small sounds of enjoyment spoke directly to his cock. Damn, he wanted this woman badly.
He stepped back and met her gaze. “Come home with me, Giana. I need to learn everything about you.”
“I’m right behind you,” she promised.
CHAPTER 4
Giana parked her truck next to him. It was fun to see how their vehicles seemed to signal that they had a lot in common. As she slid out of her truck and landed with a gentle bump, Giana regretted the two coffees she’d consumed while waiting for him. She hadn’t wanted to leave the table by the window in case he arrived.
“Now I’m hoping I didn’t leave a mess inside,” Koa said with a smile as he escorted her up to the door.
She loved the warmth of his hand on her back. Koa automatically took care of her. As far as she could tell, it wasn’t an act. Giana definitely wasn’t used to a man behaving like that.
“I promise not to judge,” she assured him as he opened the door.
Good heavens! Koa’s house was immaculate and sparse. Everything was in its place, and no dust would dare to land on the furniture in fear of instant annihilation. “I think you’re safe. And I know you’re never coming to my house if you think this is messy.”
“Military training,” he explained. “Plus the fact I don’t spend much time here.”
“Oh, are you a bar fly?”
“I do like music and dancing. But I spend a lot of time with my team.”
“You Special Forces guys seem to hang around each other,” Giana observed.
“We do. This is my first team so I can’t comment on how close other groups are, but when your life depends on those other guys, you bond.”
“I bet. Go get cleaned up. I’ll be fine here,” Giana urged as she took a seat on the couch.
“Please, feel free to turn on the TV, explore, make yourself at home,” Koa urged. He took a step toward her as if he were going to kiss her again and then halted. “Let me go shower.”
“I’ll be here,” she answered, smiling at him. Giana enjoyed thinking that he liked kissing her. She definitely had enjoyed his attention.
He disappeared down the hall, and she heard water running. “Oh!” That wouldn’t help her need to use the bathroom. Giana squeezed her legs together as the urge became an emergency. Maybe he had two bathrooms.
Koa had told her to explore. Giana bit her lip, trying to figure out what to do. She could jump in her truck and go to a public restroom. She looked around for a way to leave him a note. If only she could spot a notepad. She couldn’t just disappear.
Giana didn’t think she’d make it somewhere ten or even five minutes away. Standing, she walked down the hall, checking for another bathroom. She found a spare bedroom set up like a home gym and Koa’s bedroom with its massive king-size bed. That made her stop for a minute as her imagination went wild.
