“Of course not!” She nibbled on her bottom lip, a sure sign she was lying. “I mean, why would you even think that? That’s just crazy,” she asked, doubling down.

He smirked, and she took a step back, putting some distance between them. But the breakroom was small, with nowhere for her to go. Her back hit the wall, and he was right there, pressing into her. His cock ached, nudging hard against her softer body, her breasts rubbing against his chest.

He braced his forearms on the wall beside her head and stared into her eyes, which darkened with need.

“Leo…”

“I think you are jealous,” he said. “Why is that, sweetheart?”

She remained stubbornly silent.

“Is it because you want me as much as I want you?” He rolled his hips into her, his rock-hard cock pressing into her stomach.

Cammie gasped, and he lifted his hand to her throat, raising her chin. Then he kissed her, a soft brush of their lips before taking more. He deepened the kiss and savored her coffee taste as her mouth moved against his. His tongue darted out and traced the seam of her lips and she allowed him entrance, letting out whimper that went straight to his dick.

His body came alive, every part of him eager to take this further, but aware this wasn’t the time or the place. She worked here and even if she was as caught up in their shared passion as he was, he knew she’d be upset when the realization hit. He broke the kiss before she could come to her senses, feeling a burst of pride at the sight of her swollen lips and glazed eyes.

He couldn’t resist pecking her lips once more before he stepped back, giving her breathing room and willing his dick to calm down. He was so turned on he feared it could go off in his pants like some over-eager teenage boy. He didn’t need that kind of embarrassment in his life.

Pulling himself together, he gave Cammie what she needed most. “That woman out there is just a friend,” he said. “Her name is Charlie, and she’s very happily married. I swear.”

He saw the relief in her eyes, but she shrugged as if it didn’t matter, keeping busy brushing away the wrinkles in her shirt and tucking flyaway hairs that escaped her bun behind her ears. “I told you. I’m not jealous.”

“Well, I sure as hell would be if I saw you close to another man.”

His words registered and she hit him with the full force of her real smile. He felt like Christmas had come early. “We should go out again tonight,” he said.

For a man that did little more than work, going out two nights in a row was unprecedented, but he didn’t care. “The party is in three days, after all. We’ve still got so much to learn about each other.”

Like her favorite sex position.

Cammie nodded. “I’d like that. What will we do this time?”

Leo grinned. “Leave that to me.”

Chapter Six

That night, Cammie dressed in skinny jeans tucked into black boots that came up to her knees and another sweater, this one a bright red that seemed fitting for the season. She wore her hair in loose waves and kept her makeup light, just a brush of mascara and red lipstick. It didn’t occur to her until she was finished getting ready that she was preparing for a date.

A date that wasn’t, since he’d reminded her they still needed to get to know one another. Their last attempt had gone off the rails with ice skating, but she’d enjoyed spending time with him without worrying about learning every little thing she might need to know about the man for the Christmas party.

She’d liked his kiss this afternoon even more. Her lips tingled and a silly grin lifted her lips at the memory.

She’d waited until some time had passed after Leo left the breakroom, then she’d made her way to the counter again. To her delight, he’d introduced her to his friend, Charlie and the other woman had been lovely.

She was curious to see what Leo had planned for tonight. She had no clue what to expect.

A knock at her door announced Leo’s arrival.

She’d stayed in her apartment this time, not because there was any danger waiting outside but she was willing to play along with his demands to make him feel better. And she had to admit she liked the warm, fuzzy feeling his concern gave her.

The moment she opened the door, his smile hit her differently. There was a softness in his eyes that was new.

He leaned in and kissed her cheek, and heat rose to her skin. “Ready?”

She nodded. Her purse was already in her hand, and she pulled the door shut behind her, locking it.

“So, where are going?” she asked as they headed out of her apartment building and toward his car.
