He hopped off the bed and strode over to the bathroom, returning with what looked like a crinkled condom wrapper. “If you needed any proof I haven’t used these things,” he said, as he placed a knee on the bed, “look at this. It’s obviously been in my bag since our last trip together.”

She rolled her eyes. “We’re past those thoughts, remember?” She grabbed the packet and ripped it open.

Dash rose to his knees, plucked the condom from her hand, and rolled it over his straining erection. It had been so long since she’d seen or touched him.

Sitting up, she slid her hands down his thighs, causing a full-body shudder to ripple through him. Her hand circled his covered cock and he groaned.

“Come on. Lie down for me,” he said in a rough voice.

She stretched out on the bed and parted her thighs just as he glanced down.

His eyes darkened at the sight. “Ready?” he asked, sliding his finger through her wet folds once more.

“Always.”

He leaned down, braced his hands on either side of her head, and nudged his cock into her. She met his gaze and was lost in the sea of blue, the warmth in his expression, and the tight set of his jaw.

“Now, Dash.”

He jerked his hips forward and slid into her in one smooth glide, filling her completely. “You’re my world,” he said before pulling out and slamming back in.

His words settled everything inside her, but his thrusting movements unraveled her, too. He set a demanding rhythm that let her know just how much he loved and needed her. She felt every ridge, every solid inch as he took her hard and deep.

Before long, she was digging her nails into his shoulders again and crying out, her words garbled and barely recognizable.

She bent her legs and arched her hips, needing more of him.

“Harder,” she said, her jerking body begging, too.

Dash always gave her what she needed and he pounded into her. Soon she crested and soared, waves of pleasure crashing over her, pulling her under. Seconds later, he stiffened, his climax hitting him as he groaned and called out her name as he came.

He collapsed against her, his breathing rough in her ear. He didn’t stay long, though, taking his weight off her and allowing her to pull in short breaths.

“Shit,” he muttered.

“What’s wrong?”

“Condom broke.” He rose from the bed and walked over to the small bathroom.

She couldn’t even enjoy the sight of his tight ass and tattooed back. She swallowed hard, worried. They’d been together for a little over three years, but she had issues with the pill, problems with an IUD, and instead of trying a shot, they’d just agreed to use condoms.

He returned to the bed with a washcloth and helped her clean up. Placing it on the nightstand, he turned to her. “Sorry, Cass. I knew it looked old. I shouldn’t have taken the chance.”

She faced him and gathered her courage, about to tell him she wasn’t all that sorry when his cell rang.

He shot her an apologetic look and groaned. “One sec.” He rolled and grabbed his phone. “What?” he barked.

“Get your ass up here before Naomi and the label execs have coronaries,” Axel said, his voice carrying loud through the phone for Cassidy to hear.

Dash merely disconnected the call. “Shit. I’m wanted upstairs.”

“Then let’s go.” She forced a hint of brightness into her voice, not wanting him to hear her disappointment.

The condom had broken and she wasn’t sorry. But they did need to talk because maybe he wasn’t ready for a pregnancy.

Chapter Four

Cassidy walked into the party with Dash, his arm around her waist. The good news about a rock star party was the fact that she didn’t need to dress up. The room was an oversized suite, larger than Dash’s even, but the band were in jeans. The women the single members had invited were in tight leather pants, bustiers, and tight cropped tops to show off their obviously fake breasts.

Since she hadn’t been sure if she could convince Dash to stay for a couple of days, she’d packed a few casual outfits, and she’d been able to take a quick shower and change before they headed to the party.

She stepped into the room wearing a pink silk top tucked into the front of her skinny black jeans and her favorite pair of motorcycle boots. She had no one to impress but her husband, and he’d given her a nice whistle when she’d come out of the powder room with a face full of makeup and her hair full and wavy.

Since they were late, the room was already full. She caught sight of the guys in the band and gave Axel a small wave. His eyes opened wide, and he treated her to a thumbs-up. Jagger raised a bottle of beer her way, and before Mac could acknowledge her, a woman in a low-cut top led him away. From the look of things, not much had changed, she thought wryly. Label execs mingled with the band’s professionals, Naomi, their publicist, and a few other people Cassidy knew.
