Jayce growled as he turned to answer the door. He swung it open and let the two men step inside.
Thorn glanced around. “Why is it so quiet in here?”
Jayce answered him. “Because this naughty group of mates is keeping a secret from their Alphas. I’m trying to fish it out of them under threat of a group spanking.”
Surge chuckled. “A secret, huh? Have any of them bothered to mention to you that they’ve all been able to see snippets of the future since the day Sienna faced the lion?”
The women all gasped and then glared at him. Sienna should have known that the bears would have more insight into things than the wolves. They always did. They had more advanced powers. But darn them.
All of the Alphas, including Jayce slowly turned back to where the women sat in their circle.
Jayce cleared his throat. “It seems none of these naughty Little girls has thought to mention that detail.”
Sienna winced inside but offered her Daddy a coy smile. She even tipped her head to one side.
Every man in the room came to his mate, set his hand on top of her head, and tipped it back to give a collective pointed stare of warning to his Little girl.
Yeah, there would be a lot of spankings on the mountain later tonight. Followed by a chorus of howling ricocheting off the trees.
“So, what are we eating this afternoon?” Surge asked, strolling across the room as if he hadn’t just blown all the fun. “I’m starving.”
Jayce snagged Sienna off her butt and lifted her into the air. He tossed her over his shoulder, letting her dress ride up so that everyone could see her diapered bottom. And then he tickled her until she was in tears.
“Daddy!” she squealed.
Yeah, she was in trouble. But she didn’t care. She’d never dreamed she could be this happy. For twenty years, she’d fretted about her mating ceremony and worried she would find herself paired with a demanding man who would expect her to cook and clean for him all day before insisting she spread her legs for him at night.
Life was not like that at all. It didn’t even resemble what she’d expected. Instead of servicing her mate for the rest of her life, she’d fallen into an alternate universe where her mate intended to service her in every way.
The Alpha Protectors could be a fierce group. They took their task of patrolling the mountains for predators very seriously. But when they weren’t on duty, they were giant teddy bears who doted on their mates in every imaginable way.

Jayce lowered her to his front and held her pinned against his chest, her dress up around her waist. He brushed stray locks of hair from her face. He was grinning as he tried to look fierce. “Have you been manipulating me, naughty girl?”

“Sometimes,” she admitted, her face flushing.
He shook his head, still grinning. “You realize I’m going to start planning alternate courses of action from now on to keep you guessing, don’t you?”
