Daddy continued, “Our job as Alpha Protectors is to ensure the safety of everyone in the valley, and it would seem that the universe is calling on us to make some changes to our way of life.”

“Drow is the bear on the loose?”
“Yes. The bear he killed was named Firat. Neither of them had good intentions, but Drow has gone completely rogue, wanting to attack our community.”
Amber bit her lip, listening closely, knowing all of this was important. Her Daddy’s brows were furrowed as he explained things. “Can he get to us?”
“No, Little one. He can’t. Not with all the information we have. Molly can hear him every time he grumbles. Rylee can scent him and pinpoint where he is and how far away. If he were to make a decision, Khloe would have a vision and alert the rest of us.”
“And I’ll be able to see him?”
“Apparently. For now, though, all of this needs to be put on the back burner. All that matters is the two of us getting to know each other.”
“And consummating our union,” she muttered, knowing that was key to everything.
“Yes, Little one. That is important. But it doesn’t mean I will ever rush you. We will take our time.”
“But everyone is outside, surrounding us, and the longer we go without uh… doing the, uh, sex, the longer they will be in danger, waiting.”
He smiled. No doubt her stumbling words amused him. “Nothing will change. Not even after we have sex, Little one. We will still be guarded so that we don’t have to pay close attention to our surroundings. It’s important for us to block them all out, pretend they’re not there, and spend this time together. Even after we have sex, it will take hours for you to transition and go through your first shift. Afterward, you will be exhausted and need to sleep for a long time. We both will.
