“Is that so?” He asks as I get out of my chair.
“Uh-huh.”
“Big mistake, Kitten.” And before I can do anything to stop him, Rex grabs me by the waist and hoists me into the air. He carries me over to the pool and chucks me into the warm water.
I come up for air, to find our children laughing at what they just witnessed. They both swim over to me, latching on for hugs and kisses.
“Hey, wait a second. Save some of that loving for me,” Rex says, diving back into the pool.
Well, I was wrong. Life’s not good. It’s better than that.
