When I lie back, I see the test she’s holding and the screen that reads, “Pregnant.”
Pregnant. “You’re pregnant?”
She nods as tears fill her eyes. Not an ounce of doubt enters my thoughts, only happiness fills my heart. And a few tears threaten the corners of my eyes as I look into hers welling. I whisper, “You’re amazing, my love.”
Her smile brightens my day along with this news. “We’re always better together.” Laughter escapes her as if she’d been holding it in for months. I guess she has. She asks, “You ready to be a daddy again?”
I give her a wink. “I was born for this, babe.”
Biting her lip, she then releases and says, “Yes, you were.”
