The corner of her mouth tips up.

“I was pissed about everything going on here and got on my bike. Found a random bar. Found a random woman who wanted to give me her panties.”

“You still have them, you know,” she says grumpily.

“Oh, I know. You’re not getting them back either.” I laugh. “But even if I hadn’t gone on that ride, we’d have met anyway, you know.”

She pauses, thinks it through. “Right, I was here the next morning.”

“I’d have seen you then, wanted you just as much. We were fated.”

“You, the big, brawny biker, think we’re meant to be?”

“Abso-fucking-lutely.” I close the space between us and kiss her.

She lifts her arms and circles them around my neck, tangling her fingers in my hair.

I lift her, and she wraps her legs around my waist. She’s pressed against the side of the truck and my tongue tangles with hers.

“Get a room, you two,” Austin calls from the front door.

Carly giggles beside him. Or I think it’s Carly, because I don’t turn. My focus is solely on Sadie.

I lift my head, look into Sadie’s dark eyes, ignoring Austin.

“Should we go to my room?” I ask. “I’ve got lots of places I want to kiss you.”

She smiles. “Yeah.”

My dick, already hard, presses into her core.

I don’t set her down, just turn and head up the steps. Sadie laughs, which is the best sound in the world.

“Sadie’s father’s an asshole. He wanted her dead in his grungy-ass basement. She shot him in the leg. He’s in jail. We learned more about her brother, but it’ll hold until later.”

Sadie’s looking at me as I give Austin and Carly a quick rundown of what happened. Carly’s wide-eyed and Austin’s jaw is clenched tight enough to crack molars.

Sadie kisses my neck.

“Much later.” I cut past the couple and into the house, down the hall, and to my bedroom.

I have no doubt Austin will update Chance. Shankle’s doing his job and the intel we gathered on Joey’s job can wait until I fuck my woman and ensure she knows she’s mine.

I tell her just that when I kick my bedroom door shut with my foot.

“I don’t know what’s coming next, but I want to be with you when it happens.”

“I thought you were going to kiss me,” she says. “Everywhere.”

I set her on her feet and start to peel her shirt over her head.

“Oh, that’s the plan, baby. But I don’t want you thinking I’m ignoring everything else.”

“You are. We are.” She pushes her jeans down her hips. “That’s okay. I need you.”

Her gaze lifts to mine. Meets, holds.

I growl, lean my shoulder down and toss her over it, and then drop her on the bed. Her jeans were around her ankles and I pull them the rest of the way off. Her panties fly over my shoulder along with her bra.

She’s bare before me.

“Fuck, you’re gorgeous.” I undo the button on my jeans and unzip them to give my dick some room. I don’t dare take them off because it’s all about Sadie right now.

Tugging an ankle, I pull her to the edge of the bed and drop to my knees. Kiss the inside of her ankle and then set it over my shoulder.

“I’ll start here.” I kiss up the inside of her leg. “Then here.” I fan her core with my breath and then lick up her slit.

“Miles,” she breathes.

“Everywhere. You’re mine, Sadie. All mine.”

And I do just that. Learning her body, backing up my words with tender actions. Then rough ones. Because my woman likes it every way I give her.

As long as we’re together, everything will be just fine.

Epilogue

CHANCE

* * *

Love.

I only loved one woman in my life, and that was nearly fifteen years ago.

Sure, I have my fun. I pick up a lady at The Dusty Rose now and again, maybe even take her out a time or two.

But that’s it. I’ve only felt that spark once, and I’ve never found it since.

So I stopped thinking about love. Bachelorhood isn’t so bad. I love the land, the animals, the work around the ranch. Hell, I even love my new brothers.

Damn it, though, the two of them brought romantic love into the house. Within weeks. They had no trouble finding it right here in Bayfield, my hometown. To be fair, they didn’t actually find love. Love seemed to find them. But love never found me, not in fifteen years.

Granted, I haven’t exactly been looking, and life has been a fucking tornado since my father’s death. I’m still a person of interest in the death of Joey Hopkins. I’m innocent, and I’m pretty sure the information Sadie uncovered will go a long way in proving it, but still…

It all gets to a guy after a while.

“I need to ride like the wind, boy,” I say to Raphael, my midnight-black quarter horse, as I groom his flank with the curry comb.
