Daddy was sneaky.
“What did you do?” Daddy was being magey. I forgot. “You’re naughty.”
“You have to say the magic words.” Daddy shrugged and tried to look like there was nothing he could do about it. “I haven’t heard them.”
“Bipity bopity boo?”
He shook his head, chuckling through the bond. “There is no way that is a word. Even in the English language.”
Giggling, I frowned and tapped my chin.
“Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious?”
His mouth dropped open. “English is so strange.”
Showing him the movie through our bond, I loved the way he grumbled and blustered in my head. “Making up words is not magic.”
Sure it was.
“Hmm…” Playing along, I gave him a thinky look and tugged on his hand again. “Spank me?”
That time he laughed out loud.
“You’re the naughty boy.” Waving a hand down his body as he mumbled something too low for me to hear, suddenly I could pull him up. “Pretending to tug me and then saying you couldn’t. Silly goose.”
Sneaky Daddy.
A sneaky Daddy who still looked very proud of himself.
“Mages are magey.” Frowning at Daddy made his laughter bounce around in my head. “I forgot you were magey too.”
Daddy was such a good dragon I forgot.
His laughter changed and he shook his head. “No one ever forgets.”
I shrugged. “Daddy’s a dragon that does magic. I’ll remember but it’s hard. You’re nice. You don’t change the flowers. You’re helpful.”
Daddy was trying not to laugh but he wasn’t doing a very good job of it. “Let’s not tell my mother’s side of the family that.”
“Deal.” I was going to be very nice and very boring when we met them. “I’ll be your good boy.”
I could look very magey too.
I was good at pretending.
I was so good at pretending I acted like I didn’t hear Pierce and Merritt getting distracted talking again.
Again.
Close…close…close…and they got distracted.
Every time.
They liked talking more than doing…but that was okay.
Me and Daddy were going to do stuff, though.
“Toy time, Daddy.” He tried to give me a behave frown but I smiled bigger. “I’m being very good.”
If I’d known we’d both find our mates, I’d have picked a different room…or a different hotel. Daddy nodded so I knew he’d heard that through the bond too. That was okay, though, because I liked him in my head.
“You are being as good as can be expected.” Daddy’s response made me giggle. “Too much temptation. The diner men explained there was only so much a little could resist.”
Daddy had snuck away to the diner again.
“When did you go, Daddy?” He shrugged but he felt sheepish. “You like the naughty men.”
Now he found his giggles.
His face looked plain but his head was laughing. “I must continue to track observations and get to know the community. That is the most efficient place to accomplish my goals.”
Technically that was true but it made me smile. “They’re good at giving everyone stuff to talk about.”
Even Pierce and Merritt…but they found everything else to talk about.
Close…keep going…that’s so cute…good grief.
“You have more toys than they have brought to the diner, however.” Daddy sat down next to me, pulling me close as he picked up the flogger. “Please explain why this pain is not real pain. Those were your thoughts as the toys came out earlier.”
Probably.
“You’re good at keeping track of my head, Daddy.” That was helpful until it got me in trouble.
It was definitely going to get me in trouble at some point.
“Yes, my mate. But we have not reached that point, so let us discuss being flogged.” Daddy kissed my head, completely accepting that he’d mated a naughty boy. “The fates paired us well. The diner men agree that every little mate needs a boring mate or a Team Badass. I am considered boring.”
“Never.” Kissing his cheek, I wiggled into his lap. “You’re amazing and only one of us needs to be an attention whore.”
The diner men needed to work on their explanations and we were going to have a discussion about that…or I’d sic the sparkly dragon on them.
Ancestors above…again?
“I’m not supposed to notice how often they’re getting distracted, but Daddy, I think if we stay here much longer we need a different room.” This was getting ridiculous.
Daddy shrugged as he glanced over at the wall between the rooms. “Some mates are easily distracted.”
“We’re not. We’re going to research and talk and then have fun playing.” We were amazing mates and I was going to make sure Pierce knew all about it. “We’re going to explain the wonderful pain of being flogged and we’re going to talk about the advantages of being gagged while having playtime. Oh, and we can’t forget the plug.”
I certainly hadn’t and judging by the wicked feelings coming through the bond, he hadn’t either. He kept that off his face, though, raising one eyebrow and frowning at me. “We should probably start with the gag based on your inability to keep your thoughts to yourself.”
