Oh my God…

My mind is instantly overwhelmed by dirty, filthy thoughts of everything I want to do to this girl, and I have to focus on keeping a straight face as she flashes me a nervous smile and raises her left hand in a semi-cautious wave.

“Hello, Mr. West? I’m Mya,” she says with a voice so angelic I could close my eyes and listen to her talk me to sleep.

She’s wearing a white shirt that’s something like a T-shirt. It’s tight but not too tight, and looks like something a girl could work in. It says “I’m here to show you I can work, not impress you with my looks,” but with tits like that, it’s nearly impossible for her not to.

“Hi, Mya, I’m Ethan,” I quickly reply, standing and offering her my hand. She takes it, and we shake, and immediately I notice two things. The first, that a jolt of some kind of indescribable energy flows through me like I’ve been hit with an electric charge. Again, I do my best not to let it show on my face.

And the second, that Mya, despite dripping with femininity, has hands that tell me she’s been working for years. No one has been supporting or taking care of this girl. And that’s a goddamn crime. If I had my way, I wouldn’t offer her a job; I’d offer her a place at my side so she’d never have to worry about anything again.

“Firm grip,” I tease before releasing her.

“That’s why you’ll be hiring me,” she teases back with a smile that goes straight to my center.

“Oh, is that right?”

“Well, that and the fact that I know everything there is to know about plants, flowers, trees, soil, greenhouses, and everything else this job requires.”

I nod, impressed. “And have no penchant for stealing from the register, I hope.”

Mya looks back at me, slightly shocked. Just like the fiery hot jealousy that flared in me when I saw her walking up the lot, I can see there’s a fire in her as well.

“I look like a thief to you?” she asks.

“No, no,” I say quickly. “It’s just a little joke. My last employee, the one I’m hiring you to replace, was fired for stealing from me. I’m sure you’re not a thief, Mya, that’s just my sense of humor.”

Slowly, her face softens, and her lips curl into a tiny smile. Jesus, if I could make her smile for the rest of her life, I would be a happy man.

My pulse is racing a mile a minute. My face feels hot. I better not be blushing in front of her as I think about going down on her and what her facial expressions would be like then. I try to pull back and think about something less aggressive, like simply taking her out to dinner and treating her. For some reason, I get the odd feeling that it’s been a while since a man has been good to this girl. Or maybe it’s never happened.

“I see,” she replies with a tiny giggle. “Well, I definitely won’t steal anything, and I can promise that I—”

“You’re hired.” Her shock registers on her face, but she quickly pushes it back down. Yeah, this girl is definitely used to handling life on her own. But I’m going to change that. No matter what it takes, I’m going to take care of her.

“I…thank you…” she says, clearing her throat.

I want to hug her, pull her in close and feel her soft, warm body against mine. Hell, I want to do a lot more, but I can tell I have to take things slow with Mya.

She’s here to be my employee, not to fuck her way into my good graces. And as hard as it’s going to be, I’m going to respect that. At least, I’m going to try.

“But unfortunately, I can’t take the job.” And just like that, Mya turns on her heel and walks out of my office.

Mya

I have to get out of here now. This is bad. Really, really bad.

Something terrible happened back there in Ethan’s office—something I can’t let happen again, and if I take that job, it will definitely happen. I felt myself getting attracted to him. I felt myself wanting him.

Ethan is the handsomest man I’ve seen in a long time—maybe ever. So handsome that I nearly turned around and walked out of his office the moment I stepped in. But I need the job, so I stayed and told myself that I’d be able to handle it. But then he made that joke and flashed me those beautiful brown eyes, and I felt that feeling shoot through me that let me know that working for Ethan would not be like working for any other man.

And men are bad enough as it is. Always lying, always doing whatever they can to try and get in your pants and then never coming through with whatever promises they made to you. Since I left home at fifteen, I’ve done well at keeping them out of my life, but if I let myself take this job with Ethan, maintaining that could be difficult.
